Yes, they do! I'm wholly impressed. I remember that car unrestored (IIRC you were trying to sell it). I didn't realize the level of restoration you'd performed.
Wheels look great, and I see you have a good front ride height for the lower offset wheels.

Did Tampa continuously morph from one save to another? I counted three.
There's some tremendous saving going on. What about that yellow car! I had no idea.

It is almost 100% mechanically for all practical purposes.

First there was the '86.5 red/black auto that a house painter had bartered for, and found the maintenance cost to be beyond his desire to pay. He didn't advertise it well, and of course the needed maintenance costs could easily be as much as the car, so I bought it. The car was perfect for what I wanted, except it was an auto. A 928 owner from Indiana had bought some used parts from me (out of my racing endeavors), and told me the story of his car. Short story is that his current 928 would never be what he wanted. He made an offer, and I accepted. He made the car current on maintenance and as far as I know still has it.
Then there was the '82 green/tan 5 speed. A college student who was going to Europe had it, but it was not running. It had been worked on by a few, apparently not very good mechanics. I made an offer, and he accepted. I found relays in the wrong locations, and the intake was improperly assembled resulting in vacuum leaks. I got it running and tried to convince my wife it would be a good 928 for her. She was unconvinced, and I knew I would want a higher hp 928, so sought a buyer. Another Indiana 928 owner who had an automatic wanted a 5 speed. We made the deal and he has since done quite a bit to the car (as well as buying other 928s). I believe he still has it.
Then there was the '87 blue/tan(?) with 5 speed conversion. The owner had done the conversion, but was keeping it at his mother's house, and it had issues. I got close to keeping this car, actually registering it and driving it for a while. A Mass. 928 owner was struggling with issues with his current 928, showed some interest, so we made a deal. He has driven it to SITM, from Mass., at least once.
A retired man in CT had his non-running '86 black/black 5 speed for sale. He wanted too much for it initially, close to 5 figures! I told him if he wanted a much lower offer to let me know. A short time later he did, and I also found that it was an '86.5. I made the deal with the car non-running, towed it hom and with just a little effort got it running. This was really a car I could have kept, but a better option came along, so a new home was found in Colorado, by another car guy, new to the 928 world. Much has been to bring this car back from its neglected state.
Another 928 made its way to me, was an '84 red/black auto. I wasn't looking, but the owner had gone through a divorce, the car's timing belt had broken and he didn't have the time or money to deal with it. I bought it, had the timing belt service done, but as it was an automatic, it didn't have a future with me. The founder of this thread bought it, and it now lives happily with a stable of 928s.
A local 928er had made a number of offers to a local shop that had a neglected '89 928 5 speed on its lot. After he bought an '89 GT, the shop decided they would sell. He arranged the deal and I bought it from him. I thought this was the 928 I would keep. I started buying intake/timing belt/etc. refresh parts. After starting the dismantling a 91 GT with SC came on the market, and I convinced my wife I was a good loan candidate, and offered the asking price, knowing I would sell the '89. Well that deal didn't happen (not my fault, it was on display in Rennlist), but a '90 GT came on the market locally. I offered the '89 928 5 speed for sale, and a young man in FL bought it as it was. He was excited about doing the work himself. So far as I know he still has it, after finishing the refresh process I started.
The '90 GT was another deferred maintenance car. I bought it inexpensively enough and expected that was just the down payment. There have been some (pretty sad) trial and tribulations with having the service done on it. While I can do anything to a 928, sometimes it makes more sense for me to have others do it, certainly it gets done much quicker that way. I have put as much into it, as I paid for it, just two years ago, and unfortunately too much of that sum has been to redo work I had done once. It is what it is though. It is a car that serves as a one of the vehicles I use as a daily driver. Still much to do (including some more redo work), but I expect to keep it forever. With its high miles (160k), it is a 928 GT I can put as many miles on it as I want guilt free.
The founder of this thread saw a vague craigslist ad about a 928 in my area that needed work. We were unsure of the year, as the photos showed a spoilerless car, yet it was claimed to be an '86. This car had lost its garage space and was sitting outside. The owner had stopped using it after buying a Mercedes, and kept it at a house he rented. I thought surely this car would be a parts car. Chris found all sorts of issues with the car, but got it running and has been nursing it back to health.
I also had a few parts cars, bought when I need motors for the race cars. Two were 86.5s that I hoped to make my daily drivers (before I had those listed above). These cars were project cars with pieces missing. It took what I could use for the race car, and found homes for almost all of the remaining parts.
Besides my '80 928 S converted to GT race car (disassembled), I still have the '90 GT, an '88 S4 auto crash victim (to be sold) and an '82 Euro S chassis (non-sunroof) kept as a backup for my race car, but probably should be adopted out as well.

I would not call mine a great save but it was in storage and for sale a couple years. Not driveable, roadworthy and on the way to the wrecker. I believe if I had not bought this car it would be in a junk yard.
Some before and after pics.
I have re-routed the hoses that are not correct...thanks Malcolm for pointing them out.
