Default Removing the engine harness

So, upon first inspection..

I am planning to remove the engine harness so that I can clean/rebuild/resheath it.

It is two fold b/c I as well plan to repaint the bay in the matching body color...

So how difficult is it to remove the harness (fishing it through the firewall??

The engine is already out being resealed and having head work performed??

TIA

its actually easier to remove the connections in the car then fish them through to the engine bay . take pictures first so you have a reference

Removing or simply pushing aside the coolant reservoir makes fishing the L-Jet plug through the hole a piece of cake.

Default Thx

Thx stan/hacker.

I was hoping it was simple...

Normally I would have figured it out by now... but I slashed my knee pretty bad with a razor knife cutting through muscle tissue, recieved 13 staples and two sets of stitches under the skin for this idiotic stunt... I was trimming the front motor mount for my jetta... go figure.

I stood there and looked at the 928 wondering... hmmm wonder if the wiring runs throught the bottom of the hvac area or directly through the bottom of the firewall...

I need something easy to do in the driveway or house right now! As kneeling and standing are very painful still!

Removing yes, not much to it, installing, well just bring bandaids is all I have to say, cause you are going to look like you have stopped a cat fight with your bare hands.

Default yep...

It's gonna be a big one.... Hurts like a MF... I'll think three or four times b4 I pull that stunt again...

Hopefully they'll dig me, then the scar, and then the cars! I've poured blood over them several times!! This is a first for a car related hospital sized accident...

Default You hit the nail on the head there.

Yeah, sure does!! I just kinda laid down and reached for the nearest towel and wrapped it as fast as I could to contain the "leak" and went straight to the hospital!

13 Staples and 2 sets of stitches holding the fascia and other tissues underneath back together.... It really hurts to walk! This pic is a couple days old... there was no way I was takin a pic the first couple days it hurt so bad I couldn't walk...

From the top of the knee all the way to the right of the knee it's about 5 inches long....

Razor blades are dangerous little items to work with....

With my motor R&R the harness came out with the motor, and went back in already on it. Lots of the make it slippery stuff, and I recall pulling did zip for me, but pushing the harness from the inside of the car worked pretty well.
