Default New LIFT on market for $600....

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...6220&viewitem=

Anyone know anything about this one? Portable for us renters. No wiring.

Before the remarks start...some of us ( or maybe it IS JUST me ) can't swing the $2000 plus non portable wired in lifts but need something.

looks interesting and the price is good....I would like to see one in person being used prior to buying one....since the downside of if it fails, is you get crushed......................

Looks rickety as all hell. If I was satisfied with the stability I think it would be fine.

It looks like 600$ worth.
Sorry, but after having good lifts try to kill me, not a chance in hell I would get under that.

And a lot safer and cheaper.
I worked for years as a pro off the floor, never knew any better or saw any advantage other than time.
no way at my age could I go back to doing that full time again though.

I could definately swing that if they come with a hydraulic version using an air compressor AND if it lifts the car a little bit higher.

How much does the car on the lift weigh? No where near as much as a 928 I think. It dosent look strong enough for me to get under but if there were a heavy duty version then maybe.

I don't get how it works. Do you scissor jack it up a foot, set the pins, scissor jack, repeat? If so you are talking 30 minutes to get full lift and another 30 to get it back on the ground?

It doesn't strike me as robust construction, or something an engineer has ever looked at.

I was kind of wondering the same thing. I think that you lift one corner by the height of one hole, put the pin in, remove the scissors jack, move the jack to the next corner, and keep repeating that until all four corners are all the way up. By the time I get the car all the way up, I'll have forgotten why it was that I wanted to lift it, then it would take me just as long to get it back down again.
