Here's how it works:
Let's say your driving 75 in a 55 zone. Normally if the LEO (law enforcement officer) hit you with LIDAR, your V1 or Escort will tell you that you just got a ticket, right?
With the laser jammer, as soon as you're hit, it sends back a counter signal that confuses the LIDAR gun. This prevents the LEO from getting a reading on his gun. It's not uncommon for them to not get readings right away, so this is not atypical.
With the jammer armed, when you get hit with LIDAR, your V1 will scream at you as well as the laser jammer. As long as you hear the laser jammer and V1, the LEO is trying to get a lock on your speed. What I do is, I immediately slow down to the posted speed limit and fractionally lower, then I turn the jammer off with the toggle switch in my ashtray. Almost at that instant when I turn it off, the V1 also shuts up - indicating that the LEO has now gotten a reading. Hopefully, he doesn't think anything of it and let's you go on your merry way. Then you can re-arm.
Of course you could try leaving in on all the time and speed right past the LEO. He might get what's called "punch through" which is where his gun finally overcomes your countersignal and he gets a reading. Or he may figure out you have a trick up your sleeve and decide to ***** with you for ****s and giggles. I think turning it off is the best course of action.
I use the Blinder M-25. The current model is the M-27. This comes with two head units for front protection. You can get the m-47 which comes with 4 head units and will allow you to protect both front and rear.
I was amazed the first time it saved my bacon. It really works. An additional benefit is that I have yet to receive a false alarm with it, whereas it seems any GM SUV sets off the V1. I also noticed that if I'm driving into the sun and use my washer fluid, the V1 will go off. Weird. Anyway, that's my story.

Yes, the jammer has saved me at least 5 times.

V1 has manufacture notations on the flaws in the laser reading and they pretty much say
"well if it goes off and it was a cop you got a ticket, sorry. you can disbale it from going off with the following procedure...."
The V1 will go with all the GM leds, nightvision cameras and all kind of stuff that uses infrared and such too.
Thanks for the posted info I will look into the M-25 or 27, I think on my 85 being black I can hide those head units pretty well!

If it's only a detector, then it does virtually nothing to warn/help you except in the rarest of occurances. LIDAR doesn't scatter like radar does, so it's pretty hard to pick up a LIDAR trap in front of you, but it can happen, I've picked one up before, but I've also been nailed a few time with LIDAR too, with the V1.

They've got to be due for some improvements.

Excellent input Andrew!!
LOL - regarding
, CHP prides themselves on visual clocking abilities, so this would be a seriously stupid choice...funny to see someone else make perhaps, but you'd definitely get pulled over.
Becoming a more realistic option to get a jammer with LIDAR increasing it's popularity in CA.
