North Bound should be better than South...but you know it always gets jacked up on any of the Interstates around here..

You might consider routing off at the west bound 234 Bypass at mile marker 152..... and traveling up past Manassas toward I-66 then backtrack up to Route 28..again oposite traffic..then North on 28 to 606..I would hesitate to advise you to travel through Springfield onto the Beltway...which has MASSIVE construction zones.. just to fight the I-66 outbound traffic..If it was me .. I'd take the scenic route around Manassas..not going thru on 28 business, but all the way up to I-66 EAST (right lane exit) then back to 28 north

The earlier the better for passing thru these zones....sucks to get jammed up in a 5 speed on an Interstate... better to swing around and at least keep moving....Just a thought

It's not like we locals really have any idea how to get around these perpetual traffic jams...

28...and travel down to Old Ox Rd., Rt. 606 and travel past the TOLL Road to get to Mercure Circle and the FunKtion Auto/ Frenzy site

If you are gonna be traveling from the west/ northwest...then the Greenway makes alot more sense......

Last year a whole bunch of folks were rightfully annoyed by that little extra expense...

Better to save your $ for beers...Just look at the Google map and you will see how to get from Rt. 28 around to Frenzy and go under the toll road.

Good Luck all....see you Saturday...gonna be wicked fun

( that was for all our New England crew)
Thanks for reminding us about this, Kevin. Coming from the East, Southeast or Northeast, you'll be routed to 267. That's fine. The tolls aren't too bad. It's when you stay on 267 just past Dulles Airport that you find yourself on the Greenway. It's something like $5 only to go to the next exit!
So do what Kevin says and get off at 28 to Ox Road.
I'll update the map link on the website to reflect this detour.
Five bucks is five bucks.

From the south there are many routes, I usually take 95N to Route 3000 (Prince William Pky)going N or W not sure, to 28N which will bring you past Dulles and into Herndon to the hotel
you will hit a couple slower areas, but MUCH better than dealing with the beltway

Hey Rixter..you oughta try the route I mentioned to Jim...

Exit 152 off 95 234 Bypass 2nd exit.west, up and around the area all the way to 66..then a a little backtrack east to Rt.28.

You are traveling against traffic on 66 just a couple of miles to the larger improved sections of 66 and 28 and the number of lights and south bound commuter traffic turning into my area around 3000 PW Parkway is pretty busy.

If you divert earlier onto 234 , it will take you all the way around, kinda like an outer loop more easily and with fewer stops all the way to 66 East..

Things get harder and harder around here every year....this is the route I would travel...coming up from the south.... just my 928 cents....Good Luck...

*** ALERT ***

Maryland passes bill banning use of cellphones while driving.

The Maryland Legislature passed a new bill.
If it's signed by Gov. Martin O'Malley,
the law will take effect Oct. 1, 2010.

I will also add that Radar Detectors are illegal in DC and VA, but not MD, yet.

Even though it is now illegal to use a cell phone while driving in Maryland, it is NOT illegal to read the paper, put on makeup or eat crabs while driving. I guess the "eat crabs while driving" is a Maryland thing, but I've seen it.

We need less laws and less politicians and less idiots driving.

Good ol' Martin O'Malley. He's also responsible for expanding speed cameras [revenue boxes] throughout the state under the guise of 'safety' - even on Interstates!
So those of you coming in on I-95 S; and going home on I-95 N around Baltimore and Laurel, keep the speed down to no more than 7 mph over the posted speed limit in any area remotely resembling highway construction or else you'll be unwillingly contributing to Maryland's budget shortfalls. And yes, there doesn't have to a worker in sight for miles like on weekends because that's when they make the most money from out-of-state motorists unaware of these contribution boxes.
What's interesting is that nearly all of the MD lawmakers who supported speed camera legislation 'for safety reasons' also amended the bill to exempt their personal vehicles from citations if they were caught speeding in these 'safety zones'. Now there's a taste of MD politics for you.

It needs to rain a lot now (Thursday) because late tonight it's going to clear as Nicole moves along. The only precipitation that anyone will see around here on Saturday or Sunday will be the little rings that our beverages leave on the tables.

If your single disc clutch is on the way out I have a GTS set for sale $800 which I can bring to frenzy.

Clutch disc and pressure plate alone are $900!

Come on up and drool over everyone else's 928 and meet a bunch of folks!
