Is there anything specific that we need to bring? I'm excited to see the different models and modifications that have been done to the cars, as well as learning from all of the owners.

This will also give me a chance to see all the things that the PO should have done to the car

A GPS if you have one is nice to have - particularly if you're going on the Fun Run; although not mandatory.
Camera is usually a must for many. Aside from taking nice photos of the many cars that will be there, you can document wheel/tire sizes, sound system setups, under-the-hood details, etc. that you'd always wondered about.
Some people bring a little notepad for names, numbers and misc. details that they discover during the event.
If you're going on the Fun Run, and you have those little portable walkie talkies like Motorolas, those are really nice to have since everyone gets on the same channel. The chatter can be quite entertaining.

Just checked the email from Holiday Inn, confirming my reservation.
Check-in time is 3:00pm. I'll be there around that time, traffic permitting.
GPS says distance is 40 miles and driving time is 1 hour.

I'll try to make it, alone or with my wife, but need to see if I can clear my weekend...

Default PCA Club Race Sunday Oct. 3rd at Summit Point

Thanks to all you folks for signing up for Frenzy 14

Part of our weekend includes a quick trip up the local racetrack to spectate part of the annual Club Races at Summit Point Raceway in nearby West Virginia.

It's about 50 miles fronm the Holiday Inn and the Frenzy site.

We are gonna caravan from the Holiday Inn parking lot, after breakfast at 11:00 am and try to arrive around Noon.

A parking area and Grandstands with one of best views of the Races is being set aside for the Frenzy group by Potomac Porsche Club.

Flyers and directions to Summit Point will be available at Frenzy...
Just look for the blue canopy and signup sheet on Saturday and
if you have a few more hours on Sunday to check out a track and some real Club Racing, it will be worth the trip...and the ride out is also pretty nice
A few winding roads after a 65 mph Greenway run out to Leesburg

I realize Sunday is a travel day for most of our participants.
This Racetrack is 10+ miles from I-81, if you are traveling west or northwest
We will probably stay for only 2 hours...unless you want to do some Karting which is available at the facility til 8:00 pm very reasonable ..ages 14 and up

Look forward to seeing everyone Friday night at the Hotel and on Saturday...come find me and we can talk about Sunday.....

Cheers...Kevin and the Frenzy crew

Default Driving to Frenzy

Oh yeah...one more thing...

If you are coming to Frenzy and your GPS tells you to get on the Greenway /

Route 267.. well...just ignore that.. cause you are only going to travel one exit, but you have to pay the full price...$ 3-4.. Try to Recalculate so you get on Route
28...and travel down to Old Ox Rd., Rt. 606 and travel past the TOLL Road to get to Mercure Circle and the FunKtion Auto/ Frenzy site

If you are gonna be traveling from the west/ northwest...then the Greenway makes alot more sense......

Last year a whole bunch of folks were rightfully annoyed by that little extra expense...

Better to save your $ for beers...Just look at the Google map and you will see how to get from Rt. 28 around to Frenzy and go under the toll road.

Good Luck all....see you Saturday...gonna be wicked fun

( that was for all our New England crew)

For all of you out-of-towners who are coming & those last-minute fence-sitters who are a bit nervous about the weather:
IT'S GOING TO BE NICE ON SATURDAY AND SUNDAY!
Our local weather guy, Doug Hill is very confident that this will be a very nice, sunny, dry weekend, and for those of you driving into town on Friday, it should be a nice drive:
"By Friday this storm will be pulling away and high pressure will start to reassume control of our weather. In addition to mostly sunny skies the humidity will be wiped away and temperatures will be near a more seasonable 73 degrees. Even cooler and drier air settle in for Saturday and Sunday with highs in the upper 60s Saturday and mid 60s Sunday. Here comes our first real taste of Fall."
He's not alone in this prediction....so dry and cool.
The shirt that you'll be getting with your registration is a heavy weight, long sleeve mock-turtle. A perfect shirt for weather in the upper 60's! BTW, I just talked to the printer and he says that the shirts are looking great!

Random picture of I-95 in Northern VA on a Friday (any time of day):

Not really 95, but it will likely resemble this [EDIT] up near Springfield.
