Ground the wire and the light will go away.

With a multimeter, check that your dipstick tube provides a good source to chassis ground. As Roger suggests, you might look for an alternate ground point than what's specified in the Porken manual.

Did you install the included ground wire which goes from the 6mm dipstick mount to the 8mm bolt which goes through the center cover, over the tensioner bracket?

I removed 1 bolt from my water pump (the closest one to the wire) to bolt the 'wire' with the male spade connector on it to the engine as a ground (reinstall the bolt with antisieze).. THen when u plug in the timing belt sensor wire it is grounded.

I see from Rob's photos, that step 10 in the PDF file is confusing.

Second sentence in step 10 is not clear that your talking about the jumper wire.

Plus the step 11 photo, does not show the jumper installed by step 10.

Borland - In step 10:
- Install belt tension light defeat bolt and widget: In your kit, you should have a nut (and bolt) and what he calls a "widget". The widget is the electrical connector with a spade on one end and a round terminal on the other. Put the spade from the widget into the original light tension sensor connector (the one in TB cover). That what you see in the lefthand photo in the PDF on step 10. Then, put the bolt through the round terminal end of the widget and then put it through the hole in the cover. That's what the righhand picture is in the PDF file. So now, if you looked at the front of the cover from the front, you should have the threaded end of the 6 mm bolt sticking through it. That bolt is now your oil dipstick holder.
- In the kit, you should also have a wire with a round electrical connector on both ends. One of those ends goes on the bolt you just installed above; i.e., put the connector on, and then put your dipstick on the bolt after that. Then, thread a nut on it to keep your dipstick holder in place. Take the other end of that wire and put it on the 8 mm bolt of the PK tensioner--or any other bolt that connects to the engine.
In the end, you're just grounding out that wire on a bolt that threads into the engine...

FWIW - I had to read that part in the instructions a couple times too. Looking back, I wish I would have made a U-tube video of the install. Once you've installed it, it's easy to understand.

Good for you, but by the number of posts I've seen here, on trouble installing them, that's not the case for some.

I've never installed one myself. Its too bad the documentation is not clear enough for everyone.

Thanks everyone, I'll run a ground from the dipstick to the block. I think that's what is needed here.? By the way, the actual installation went very well. Doug.
