Default Using 355mm Brembo rotors?

Anyone using these?
Can you tell me if they are the ones with the mounting face offset or even with the friction surface?
I'm making some hats and want them to use whatever rotor is out there.
Most Brembo rotors are offset but not all, I don't know if anyone actually uses the non-offset ones.

Mike,

I am interested in some for a 380x32mm rotor if you make them.

Yikes. You might need some DONK rims to clear those.

The 355s have a 233mm bolt circle and that's what I'm making.
You can get 380mm rotors with that same bolt circle and therefore use either 355 or 380 with the hats I'm making but a 380 really wants a larger bolt circle.
If there's a demand for a few sets I'll make some but I don't know if anyone is manly enough for such a brake!

Mike:

The rotor hats should be those sold for the 964 3.6 turbo, i.e. 965. Wrightwood makes the hats as do a few others.

Enjoy.

I've never seen hats with the correct offset for a 928 anywhere.
Maybe something has come along since I looked but the idea of paying big money for a part designed for a different car that's rumored to work isn't appealing.
I'm making these to sell. I'm happy with the ones I made for my own car and it seems like a good idea for there to be rotor hats designed by a 928 guy for 928s and selling at a cheaper price than compromised stuff.

I think the only one around that was making a 2 piece had set up was Steve for Devek back in the day. I dont think there is a 965 two piece set up out there, but love to see it if there is. this would be the right offset if there was. the nice thing about Steve's set up, was that it was set up to use the cheaper coleman rotors. (about 200 bucks) . currently,im using the 322mm gts rotors with the spacers. sure would like to find some larger diameter rotors that would work.

Mike,

I have 3 piece 18" racing rims and they should JUST clear. I will be able to borrow a set of discs (AP) locally to confirm clearances etc.

I know that the 18" CCWs on my car don't have enough clearance to go up to 380 with the calipers it has. A 3 piece might have more clearance at the caliper area though. It's going to be tight, remember to allow a few hairs for wheel/spindle flex!

Was that svp?
What rotors can you get from Coleman in a 14 x 1.25?
I found some Colemans that were that size but had a freakish little bolt circle. I machined them to the proper Brembo mounting circle and have used them on my car. It would be nice if Coleman already sold them that way.

BTW, there's nothing like having 'enough' brakes on a racer! They also work for easing the car to its resting place at the side of the track after something has broken, again

Mike I use those discs, I have spare set too, if you want pics? However what might be more useful is the technical drawings on Brembo's site. I can email them to you if can't find them. There is many types of 355 mm discs, they use the same pattern just different weights due to heat capacity. I am going out now and won't be able to respond for a few hours.

MIke, I had Coleman quote me a price for 14" x 1.25" rotor with whatever bolt circle I wanted a couple months ago- about $140 ea in qty 2 to 10. They don't "stock" the rotors we used for Devek anymore- they all cut to order. I only have 13's on my car (330mm). Someone had asked me about replacements for Devek setup, so I checked, but never went anywhere with it. I have dimensions for a stock S-4 hat, considered making some like you suggest, with a bolt pattern to fit Brembo, AP, etc, but the Euro stuff is different than domestic, and then do you go with solid-mount or floating rotors....in the end, I didn't make any.
But, if you are going to do it, talk to Coleman- they will put any center pattern you like in their rotor, and it is a good, inexpensive alternative to the pricy european stuff.. I had mine cryo- treated and they have been on for 3 years- no problems, little wear, no cracks. Solid mount, 2024 hats with vents in the centers.
Let me know if I can give you any help..

Steve

I still need 355mm rotors, so you can put me on the list for Colemans if a mini group-buy materializes. I know they can drill to match the Brembo or AP... etc patterns, so would be a great option for those of us who have AP taste but Wilwood budget.

Will the hats you are making allow free-floating?
