Default Updated - For Sale: Euro S Heads $100 complete, correct casting numbers

Update: Ok, mystery solved, I posted the wrong picture of the casting numbers. The part number on BOTH heads is: 928.104.348.2R

I have a set of large port Euro S heads off a 1980 MY that I'm looking to get rid of. It was a running car with good compression (150-170 psi cold). The part number on each head is shown in the pictures. I’m selling these cheap because there are 2 issues: the first is that one of the valve retainers is worn away and needs to be replaced (lucky for me I caught this in time because I was driving this car a not long ago – there would be big problems if the valve fell down when the motor was running). The second issue is a broken thread boss that needs to be welded or drilled and tapped deeper. Because of these 2 issues you can pick these heads up on the cheap. Local pick-up welcome. $100 plus shipping. PM if interesting.

Cheap price, I suspect that the springs may be weak and that caused a lot of valve float and as such started a pounding process that damaged that retainer. You were lucky indeed!

Yeah, I can't imagine I had too much longer... it was a fun engine though. I figure someone could use these heads. My project is 32v so these need to find a new home.

I sure hope so... I pulled them off a M28/11 with my own 2 hands. Maybe I posted the wrong casting number picture, will check tonight.

According to 928 Intl. The 348 is a Euro and the 356 isn't.

blow into the rear port of the heads, if it blows to the intake ports, its US, if it blows to the exhaust ports, its euro. (or just measure the valves. 45mm/43mm euro. they look pretty big to be US.

thats a great deal! that little cam tower thread jacked up is no big deal, and the valve retainer is a 1 min fix. I wonder where all those pieces of it went though.

They were boucing around between the valve and the bottom of the lifter, and had been worn perfectly smooth from all the bouncing around. The lifter itself was noticably cleaner than the rest I assume from the beed blasting it took from the retainer pieces bouncing around in there.

I'm interested too. Problem would probably be shipping to Hawaii, 96819. If they are still available, let me know. I would like to have a spare set.

I'm interested as well. If I were to convert to euro heads, I would as well need a euro intake and cams correct???

I can still use my cams covers??

4drgl: you can still use your cams, intake and covers. You will see more performance gain with Euro S cams and the Euro S intake, but still a big bump with just the heads. I have an extra set of Euro S intake runners and an extra Euro S throttle body which might help some too.
