Glad to see that you fixed it. Those before pictures hurt.

Actually I am really impressed with the nice job that you were able to do on the window replacement. I am really pleased with what appears to be a high level of assistance from others in this community with the windows. That is the kind of activity that I think glues us all together.

That really is a nice looking 928!!! If I were actually so inclined I would be pleased to have it even if I had to steal it. I wish I could help with a better kind of place to live.

Nice job... Good to see your back on the road, and hopefully in a safer parking spot

Thanks guys!

Yes new spot in the complex right in the middle next to the manager's building. Im also thinking backing up against the wall when parking will be the winner!

For a cheap coverup on the rear I bought a painters canvas drop cloth at HF. Not as ugly as you might think, more of a neutral nothing special look.

B.O.L.O. (Be on the lookout) for the white SUV. Criminals are not smart, and are probably local. Call the local Property Crimes detective. He/She may have some similiar cases, and small little facts make the whole story.

Hope they are caught...

Put them in a hotel room with Rhudy. They won't walk right for years!

A friend of mine had his soft top slashed on his older Jeep by the thief who stole his under-dash mounted cassette player. My friend figured that the thief would return to an easy target and tried to think like a thief to defeat the thief. My friend figured a thief would reach up to cut the wires and put one hand on the face of the unit and use his other hand to yank down on the top/rear of the unit. Sure enough, the thief returned. A few weeks later, my friend found his Jeep with the passenger door open, the cassette player on the floor of the passenger foot-well and 3 quarter-inch thick full fingertips in a pool of blood from the singe-edge razor blades he had glued across the back edge of the unit facing up. I asked him if he took the finger pieces to the cops to identify the thief through fingerprints. He just laughed. Justice (or at least vengeance) had been served.

I have often thought of mounting a very sharp and easily removable spike with a barb on the sharp end under my seat with the butt end on the floor and the point resting on the under-side of the upholstery padding. I would install upon leaving the car and remove when re-entering. Thieves usually jump into the seats pretty fast and hard to gain access to your belongings. The barbed spike a few inches up through their ars would keep them there pretty uncomfortably for awhile until (insert imaginative ending.)

Good luck restoring your 928.

I can tell you the Police San Diego will do nothing to find those guys. Had a 91 Vette convertible when I lived there. Car was parked in a locked garage (rolling gate type). Crooks popped the gate, stole a pickup to carry my wheels and stereo off in, as well as my Harley custom Hardtail. Three days later the wheels and stereo system were listed for sale in Wheeler Dealer magazine. We called the cops, they knew this guy was a crook but they wouldn't do a thing about it because we didn't have the serial numbers. Did show up at the guys house with the Vette with new wheels to look at the stuff. Told him we knew the stuff was hot and strange how it looked just like what was missing from our Vette, "right over there". Guy was nervous to say the least. No happy ending though because the cops wouldn't come out to meet us even though we told them we were going over there. What a scumbag.
