PLAYED WITH VETTE TONIGHT
On the way home from the bar tonight, I was on a side street that is 4 lane. Pulled to the stop sign and there was a convertible Vette that stopped same time as me. He and his wife were in the car and we both left the light a little soft, then he hammered and I did as well. I was with him as he had 1/2 a fender on me by initiating it. I was pulling on him hard just around 5500 rpm (I was manually shifting my auto 3speed), and as I hit 2nd and was even with him, he lifted. I don't know what year it was, but think it was around 2004 or 5. Pretty good little run to about 70. I would have loved to seen what would have happened to 100, even if he would have taken me. His wife may have made him lift, but I'd like to think he was scared as I pulled even on him and didn't want to get beat in front of his girl. Fun stuff for a few secs in a fairly remote area.

70 is as fast as a Corvette owner will go. Their cars may go faster, but they won't. I think they are afraid of losing their AARP insurance discount or something.

I like "hypothetical" accounts of things that possibly could have happened to a "friend". Just a Public Service Announcement.

As far as 'coming home from the bar' goes, Not everybody drinks in a bar, including me at times. Last night was one of those times. You can pretty safely say that if you are at a crack house, you are doing crack. Bars often offer food, friends, and fun as well as alcohol. It really amazes me the conclusions people jump to on here. If there is way to twist something to put their spin on it, they will. I appreciate the warning on scumbag lawyers and DA's, but I think I'll be alright. I've made pretty good decisions in my first 40 years, and some bad ones, but have learned not to make them again.

Even a 1994 is no slouch since the LT1 is standard and the LT4 was an option in 1996 (same body).
Lighten up on the bar comment guys. He's in Vegas. I was jaywalking down the strip with a full yard glass of beer. Ran into a cop on foot patrol in the median who helped me cross the road safely

The other day as I was leaving a light a Panamera S was really on my a$$ so I punched it. I would say he was dropping 1 car length per second until he let up at ~70mph. Further up the hill at another light I could see him in the rear-view mirror, he was pissed

Whenever I hear "We have with us today Dr. Nimrod T. Douchebag who disagrees with (fill in the blank)..." I just chuckle and change the channel. How frigging hard is it nowadays to find someone willing to disagree with any opinion or fact out there?

The DUI laws aren't enforced on the strip, unless you are really snockered. With all the casinos giving away free drinks to anyone gambling, they would be liable in a lawsuit. Metro looks the other way. I've read that the reason our car insurance is so high is because they figure half the drivers here are impared, and the other half are geezers. All them old farts in Summerlin, are really dangerous.
I just make it a rule to never drink anywhere but at home. I got to much to loose. I think Jeff prolly feels the same way. But to be honest I did break that rule last month, and had a few to many at the MGM. I left my 928 in valet and took a cab home, picked up the Porsche the next morning. 20 bucks for a cab is way cheaper than 3 grand for a DUI ticket.
The one thing about Vegas is that you can't have bad habits and have anything if you live here. This town is designed to do one thing, take your money.
