19k miles, 5spd, '95... $60k does not seem out of line to me...

Maybe someone bought it and then ran in to financial trouble...there is plenty of that to go around for EVERYONE!

That's a bargain if it's the real deal (ie, no mechanical issues, no accidents etc).

If you are going to spend that much money better off with a 2007 997TT for 80k to 90k.

Beautiful, well kept car. I agree with the fact that you can get a hell of a lot more car for that kind of money, or just a little more.

Mark,

Keep telling yourself that and you won't have to spend money to UPGRADE to a GTS bro! These days it is not all about the numbers...as you noted a V6 Mustang is every bit as quick as a GTS and virtually all SERIOUS sports cars are faster for less... NONE of them have the build quality or exclusivity of a GTS though and you can't even put a price on that. If you just look at the numbers then NONE of us should be ANY 928, there are going to be PLENTY of faster cheaper newer "sports cars" out there! Keep in mind if they were still building the 928 it would be a $200k+ car today...

Look at the history, more like 8 different people bought it, drove it very little and sold it. Rich mans toy.

WOW...that is a sordid history for sure! LOL! I never looked up the history on my '94...I'd be curious to see how many hands it passed through before hitting me. I am guessing I am 3rd or 4th real owner.

I was wondering about the low AutoCheck score... 40, with a typical range of 38-80 for this type of model.

You're correct, at $60k this GTS is a STEAL!

......for somebody who buys this car it's more about the relative rarity not what's available today for the same money. That person will prolly have several of the cars you mention?

James,
Before I would upgrade to a GTS for that kind of money would make 2 other choices and 1 of those is what many have already done.
It would be either go with supercharger for the 928 which I have thought of
or move up to something newer and faster only choice so far is a 997TT but have to look further before any serious buys.My last car before I got the itch to sell it I owned 16 years and this is my 16th year of owning my 928 which I bought off the original owner. The best thing that could happen is the Euro goes down and takes the German Mark with it then maybe Euro cars would cost less here.Seen the price on the new GT2RS of $245,000.00 so you could be right of the price of a new 928 if it was made today but the demand dropped off in 1993 to 1995 as rthe price went up.
On rareity hopefully the guy doesn't fork out $20k for a YUGO don't think many are around of those either lol.

Mark,

I don't think you can get a 997TT for $60k yet...996TT FOR SURE, but I think it would be a pretty tired 997TT if you could find one at $60k...that said, I have not looked, but I agree with your stance. With 8 928's, I would LOVE to add a 997TT to the fleet! The 996 is pretty damn spectacular and the 997 is a SOLID step above that!

No, I do not think that is a problem. I just thought I saw it before and couldn't remember for sure. I also forget to take my memory pills. What was the question ?

The current Corvette could be the fastest car on the planet for under $100,000.00 now.

James,
Most 2007 997TT with 20k to 30k mileage that I have seen prices on are around $85K to 95k.Know for sometime you have also talked of wanting one.Would you trim down the 928's or just ad the TT car?I would have to be able to test drive one and know for sure that is something I wanted before spending 100k+ I only drove an earlier model TT with 415hp,sure would like to be able to take a ride or drive a 2010 997-2 with PDK.
