Great work. Should make some of these tailored to street use.
Did any of these get covered in leather, vinyl or carbon fiber? Post pics

I have one and it's quite nice. However, it's still sitting in the box in my garage waiting to get installed (in a street car).

I have not used mine either. I did do some careful consideration of using it in one street car, but am currently trying something else. The dash is extremely well done, but the console design is such that modification is needed to fit air deflectors, radio, heat/ac controls etc. I removed all the foam off the original dash sub-frame and am thinking that attaching the fiberglass dash to the sub-frame would allow a much better installation than just putting in the fiberglass dash and hoping to find good ways to mount it to the car as well as good ways to fit the AC/heater controls, the radio if used, etc...etc. I am of the opinion that I would need to recess the front of the console like the original to get the look I want. As is would be fine for a track car as you might not fit any of the stock items to the console. My most current experiment involves applying bondo to the stripped frame and I will cover that. Involves a lot of sanding and will require a completely reworked glove box door as well as modification to the console too..... may work, may not.....removing all the foam from the frame is no small feat and getting the dash smooth and ripple free has taken a bunch of time. Not as easy as a fender on a '78 Buick....

Default Back to my dash project

I'm working on my track car again and need a couple more switch locations in my dash panel so now is a good time to rebuild the panel and install my fiberglass dash.
I'm making the parts I need and buying some electrical items right now.
After the Wilbraham Tech Session, I'm going to bring the car in and rewire my controls. I'll also be moving my guages into the pod, then moving my digital unit (currently in the pod) to the steering wheel.

Here are a few pics of the new stuff. I'll try and find a pic of the existing so you can see what I'm talking about.

Default Back at it !

I got sidetracked by other projects but I figure two years is long enough

I have been wanting to reconfigure my gauges and switches to give more unified look to all of the things I have added over the years.

The first order of business is to move my tach, A/F, boost and intake temp gauges to the pod. They were previously located above my switch box on the car center line. I have been running with no dash at all, just a gutted pod.

At this point, I have the one pc dash/console trimmed and fitted. I trimmed more than most might need to because I am working around a full cage and also want to easily slip the entire thing in and out when needed.

Default Finally finished the Install

I did a lot of trimming so the dash will slide in and out quickly and clear my roll cage. All of the switch wiring, fuses etc are mounted on a panel that stays on the tunnel when you pull the dash. The gauges also stay in place when you pull the pod and dash.
Two bolts hold the pod and two more for the dash itself.
Finish is a textured epoxy base coat with a matte black top coat to knock down the shine and provide UV resistance.
The overall fit of the dash was very good so it will probably work well in a car without a cage.
