There was a new guy on here looking for one of these recently. This looks like a winner.

What percentage of porsche buyers buys a new one and basically parks it for 30 years? We've seen a half dozen of these cars in that last 6 months.

looks like it might be a 5 speed too, based on the 16" wheels. Would love to see the inside and engine bay.

Porsche's are trophy cars, more important for some to buy and own than to drive, especially if even the tiniest issue comes up. Lots of the dot.com millionaires suddenly had lots of money and no time. Drove me nuts at the time, but a software place I was doing some work with had a 14 year old kid take his first "big" royalty check and bought a new 928 and parked it in the garage until he got his license almost two years later.

But think about the numbers, except for the Sultan's cars etc., how many really mileage cars have turned up, just a handful, so my guess is that many more are still out there.

Odometer roll-over is my guess. Or missing a zero. Does not look like original paint to me.

In a dusty garage with a pair of orthepedic shoes and a few canes leaning by the garage door and I get excited about low mileage claims.

Sitting in the driveway of a rough little house next to a young buck's 4-wheeler, less-so.

But maybe its real.

Cool! I can't wait for the 7,900-mile GTSs to start popping up!

I've never seen this car around the KC area before. If someone wants me to go look at it let me know. Sounds a little too good to be true though.

I had my suspicions too, based simply on the tract house it's sitting in front of. But maybe it's an inheritance. Someone should go look and get the VIN so it can be run through a check.

You guys nailed it - I requested and received pictures; this is no low mileage car. The interior pascha is ripped on passenger seat. The leather wrap on the steering wheel is split badly at the seams, and the whole interior looks tired. It is a 5 speed. As to the engine bay, it looks more like a high mileage engine bay. Lots of heat soaked connectors, and some funky after market wiring in the front passenger side of the engine bay - splices and pigtails.
This may be a $4k to $5K car depending on strong ppi.

Just requested information, but it just does not add up (the picture, location, vagueness off the add).
Anyway update on the Euro I was looking at. It was converted in 84, and the instrument panel switched to MPH. But the speedometer is not working and it only reads 14K miles. The 928 does look good, but the owner claimed lower miles (60K) and by my calculation it should be at minimum over 75K miles.
So I am pondering the purchase. It does have all its paperwork though. I just don't know. I have always been told to listen to my gut, but unfortunately I was not listening when it told me what to do!
From the condition of the 928 it just does not look like it went through so many miles. The import paperwork claimed 57K but it did not state miles or kilometers. Would anyone know if the folks at the docks knew how to convert kph to mph back then? hehehe
It would make much more sense that it was 57K kilometers unless someone put 57K miles in 5 years.
Anyway, any input from the board?
