I've ridden in the car. It is pretty close to flawless, despite the mileage on the clock. Everything fits as intended, and it runs well.

You're reasoning makes sense bigs (always does!) and I wish you best of luck with the sale.

You might also consider a different approach on the house, selling now at a lower price and letting the new buyers pick their own style for the master bath and other items which need replacing. Maybe offer a credit towards these necessary updates. Could save you a great deal of headache and let you focus on your new place instead of the one you will be letting go.

Either way good luck, I know there's some big changes ahead.

I'll take it. What kind of a payment plan can we arrange?

You don't know my wife!

She is convinced that "It will show much better if a 'few' things are updated."

I am just a leetle suspicious that she wants to fix it up to a premium level, then coincidentally change her mind about selling it!

I may need an actual written contract: "If I sell the Porsche to pay for updates to the home, then you must agree to sell the home!"

This is so tempting my head hurts.

I'm sure Lorelei would agree we don't really need the house we are looking at.

Probably a good idea not to ask her first, wouldn't you agree?

It definitely sounds like she has a plan to keep the house. You might consider counteracting this or possibly siding with her on the decision by getting online and start searching for ideal smaller homes in the area. It's amazing how someone can change their mind when all the options are laid out in front of them. Just a thought.

Otherwise a contract might be a good idea.

Asking forgiveness is always better than asking permission.

Agreed, always beg for forgiveness after the fact.

BTW, I know a good lawyer in your area.

J/K....but it would be cool if you bought it with your wifes consent!

Sorry that you are going to let it go. I am trying to understand your reasons but I am incapable of such practical thoughts when it comes to these cars. On the bright side, I've got a local friend that's interested. If he gets it, I will make sure he gives it a good home.

I have to ask since this is a 93 GTS. Does this one have any oil consumption issues that are reported as being common in this model?

Mike,

I doubt it has any issues, just uses a lot of oil! I know mine do! In fact just got the warning light last night to add oil to the '92! If you are less than 1 qt. every 700 miles then you are right in spec.

There was only one time when it used oil:

I had the opportunity to run it at about 140 mph for a little over an hour. Sustained driving at that speed used up some oil. Otherwise I've never had to add oil except for the yearly oil and filter change.

Edit: I imagine if I used it as my daily driver - or took it on a long road trip, I'd be adding a little oil from time to time. But my use is limited to spirited drives up Provo canyon and back; the occasional drive to work on a nice day; or freeway trips within 100 miles or so.

Wow Bigs. The universe just shifted. It is people like you that have given me information and ammunition when justifying owning a 928. Losing you as an active 928 owner will cause misalignment of all the planets in the 928 solar system.

Good luck with the house and later 928 reunification. Hopefully this does not mean less participation in OT/PC. I appreciate the discourse and rational considerations you bring to the discussion.

One way or the other, I plan to stick around RL as long as you poor souls will tolerate me!
