Default What's your favorite 928 design element?

besides the profile, which is a given...

My fav is the dishing around the headlight.

So freakin' hot and no-one has come remotely close since... Since 1978.

Wow...

(I love the manhole wheels too)

The cool round rear is one of the coolest design elements I have seen. That I like my 928 view from the rear the best.

After the rear end, I like the front view. I love how it looks like it's always making a face at you. That's personality.

From the outside, I like the rear view best.

From the inside, I love all the little convenience lights, and the storage trays and compartments, and the way the door panels curve around into the dash which then curves into the center console.

As much as I like all of the design elements mentioned so far, and there are so many more to be named, I am still surprised how much the top view of the 928 still takes my breath away. Even in a line drawing it is something to behold.

The nose of the S4 + GT's, particularly because of the flaps that open and close airflow to the radiators depending on need to maximize aerodynamics. I know they dropped it later. Know it's a pain. Weight. Bla, bla bla... STILL, I appreciate that, for a lot of the reasons why I dig Citroen SM's...

After that, the drivers side interior door panel on my '89S4. The whole interior is cool, especially the useless seats behind, but that door panel is perfection IMHO...

The instrument pod, as a whole is magnificent as well... The speakers all over the place.

The ability to supercharge, reliably. I'm now convinced, by the way, that Murf's the only way to go regarding them. Still though, the ability to mush 500 HP out of these cars. Pretty cool...

I don't think I can easily stop. That's probably the best feature of all. There's just so dam much...

The glow-in-dark spot on the interior door catch, the forward-flip popup headlights, the easy removal of the rear light clusters, the tool box, rear sunblinds...

8 inch glass headlight setup as in avatar above.

Rear lines of early cars, especially sans spoiler & wiper, with wide tires and spacers.

I'd say it's that every single part seems to contribute to the whole. The form follows the function in every aspect of the car, but the form clearly was an important design element as well.

There's no one piece that looks like maybe it went out for bid or was decided by committee. There's nothing borrowed from anything else. It has exactly what it needs to do its job and nothing else.

It's not a sports car/sedan hybrid. It's not an SUV on steroids. It's not a V6 trying to act like a 4 cyl sometimes and an 8 cylinder other times. It's not anything but a sweet looking GT car with plenty of power and all of the suspension design to handle every road condition while keeping the driver and passenger comfortable and safe.

Anyway, for the other drivers it's the only part of the car they get to see

Comfortable fit for a tall driver, really like the rest, but if I don't fit in it I'm not happy.

Has to be the *** end , you look at so many cars on the road and most look like the design team gave the job of designing the back end to the work experience kid or, the designers 6yr old nephew did it , not the 928 , its one of the most complete designs around everything looks just perfect !
