That goes without saying. One would need a long tube to bring the temp down. Between the turbine and the cats, though, they'll live just fine.

I am trying to figure out what pressure sensor I can make last there with the shortest possible tube. There are diesel sensors out there, but those aren't quite up to the spec for a gasoline engine.

Default Spacious city living

Tiny London Apartment on Sale for $335K
Jan 22 02:12 PM US/Eastern

LONDON (AP) - A prison cell-sized apartment without electricity is on sale for 170,000 pounds ($335,000)—another sign that London's property market is booming despite rising costs and stagnant salaries. Anywhere else this dilapidated studio might not have attracted such price. But this is London, where a 77 foot-square former storage room is being marketed as an investment property in the exclusive Knightsbridge neighborhood.
That apartment is spacious compared to where the turbos and manifolds have to live:

And that's not even all of it in terms of size problems. For the sizable gt3071r's to fit there, first JK had to order them in the smallest form factor available and then perform major surgery on the compressor housings. There is no way in hell stock gt3071r's would fit in that space without taking out the auxiliaries and/or liberally applying a sledge hammer. But somehow after all the surgery they will fit.

EDIT: Here are the turbos in their natural habitat.

By the way, before someone points this out: The zip tie assembly in there is the signature technique of yours truly. It's not holding the fuel line in place, just the temporary insulation around the fuel line, don't worry! ;-) It'll be replaced when a heat shield and sleeve are installed to protect the fuel line (and the car from the fuel line, since it's ss braided stuff.)

Default good news and bad news

The bad news is that I'll be missing the SITM, by about a week.

The good news is that the air intake looks amazing in a black car.

That sucks, I know the feeling well. No sense in rushing a project like this.

The intake does look awesome.

Yes, I am very happy. It'll look both trick and understated when it's all done.

I threw in the towel (on the road trip with the 928 not the project) when I realized the only day(s) to do the new tune was this Tuesday / Wednesday.
First test drive should not be a 900 mile road trip

Both of us are in uncharted waters, no sense in pushing it and making a very expensive boo-boo.

Too bad you cannot make it otherwise, but if I understood your game plan, picking up the car then stopping at SITM on the way was the whole idea.

Would've really liked to make SITM with this. Oh well, it was close.

Were you Gypsy Rose Lee in a previous life? I'm enjoying the 'reveal', one oblique, closeup shot at a time. Always leave 'em wanting more....

Fair enough but do me a favour, move the jack stands from the sway bars to, at least, under the lower controll arm bushings. I would like to see you alive when this project is complete.

Default Too much information

For now, some of the turbo information will be displayed in the ash tray. Here's a photo, minus the panel:

This is for now.

In the long run, the boost will go into the standard instrument cluster by replacing the tacho with 951 tacho and boost gauge combo (a la Porken). The eboost2 programs will be selected by the the gear sifter using microswitches. The turbocharger speed will only make it into the data logs. At that point, displaying the two gauges is no longer necessary, but if the look grows on me I'll leave them there anyway.

I think you will find that the ashtray mount grows old quickly. You can't see the guages when in 2nd or 4th gear. I look forward to seeing your guage cluster solution. It sounds interesting.
