Yes, once the system is tested and debugged, the hot parts will be coated / recoated.

As with most car engineering problems, packaging and heat management is harder than making power.

Gorgeous work. What's the target HP/torque?

Those turbos are enormous. How are they cooled?

We don't have a specific target for the stock engine. If you take a look at the video, the turbine/compressor combo should be good for 1200hp or so at the crankshaft before sonic choke. Obviously, we can't take the stock engine there with pump gas, but it will be interesting to see how far the stock engine can go.

Water cooled center housings, oil flow cools some as well. The air flow is intended to blow from front to back, which should keep the compressor cover cool. Given the compressor's location close to the exhaust manifold, there might be some benefits from cutting small vents to the hood, letting air escape up as well. Not planning to modify the hood in the current design, just noting that it is an option.

I assume you'll be running some kind of boost controller in addition to the waste gates?

And as far as cooling, I've been amazed how beneficial the belly pans are for cooling the engine in general since reinstalling them. Is there room to add in NACA ducting in the pans near the turbos, since you plan to use the pans?

Running eboost2 now, which was worth 100+ hp because it allows for rpm specific boost setting.

There's a very large difference in underhood temperatures with the belly pans on vs the belly pans off. Like a night and day, more extreme than with the stock engine.

I modified the belly pans to fit the old system. I did some surgery on the NACA duct pipes and they worked well on the old system. The new system sits a bit lower than the old, which may make things better or worse, I'll have to see.

So the (Edit Cold) side has to pass directly next to the exhaust manifold?

The compressor cover you are seeing in the photos is not the version that will be installed on the car. There will be surgery. Pretty much everything has to be custom fabricated to make it fit in the standard 928 body and hood.

Both inlet and outlet.

I think Brendan is talking about this, the wastegate piping.

Or maybe he's talking about the compressor outlet. Brendan, if that's what you are talking about, the compressor housing can be clocked. Remember, it has to meet up with the inlet to the fender mounted intercooler.

From the angle on the picture it is tough, but I am looking at the cold side of the turbo.

I see an inlet pointed towards the front of the car. I see an outlet of the cold side pointed towards where the hood is with the engine in the car - UP - and it will be going to rarified air and about 1.5 inches between the cam cover and the side-fire-wall.

You can clock it to down - are you suggesting its going to go down?

Trying to picture all of this. I was up close and personal with Todd's turbo, but as many know he is a master fabricator and changed the body some to fit the turbos perfectly behind the stock shaped exhaust manifolds.

You can clock it in more than just an "up" or "down" orientation.

If that doesn't get the outlet exactly where you want it, you can also weld aluminum weld "L's" to the compressor outlet to make tight turns. For instance, mine has a couple welded on in a funky shape to make the turn. I don't have a picture of mine with me but here is a picture of what I'm talking about, although it's a minor direction change.
