I'm on the top of the hill in our little town and the street leading to my driveway is the steepest road in town. You have to give a car some gas to go up that road, hence the problem.

What is this town you speak of? Could it be Gothum City, Mr BRUCE WAYNE?
Why not park it in the bat cave, Alfred too busy to make room in the garage?
just kidding
I've been following this thread forever it seems.
Nice work Alfred has done this far.

John is in Canada and I'm getting ready to go to Europe so nothing's happening to the car right now...

What's that intake manifold in your avatar?

Default A quick update: Accident, damage, delay, and back in the saddle

A quick update after the summer: A little over a month ago John had an accident in his job that destroyed some parts. A heavy welding rig collapsed. Fortunately, nobody was under it and there were no lives or limbs lost. Unfortunately, one of the parts that was damaged beyond repair was a prototype cast exhaust manifold. What this meant is that we were back to 3D printing clay/sand molds and pouring high-silicon cast iron. That amounted to about two month delay once you factor in the machining operations, thermal barrier coatings, etc. I'll post some photos of the new casting soon, it's slightly improved prototype because the shrinkage factors etc. could be estimated very precisely from the previous prototype casting.

A lot of metal was turned into junk, but this was the only really expensive loss, expensive both in terms of dollars and delay;

Vacation was fun but exhausting.

I've got a lot of pictures, not all appropriate for a Porsche site.

Here's one though, it's from a Croatian WW2 U-boat shelter.

So we went into a bomb shelter but still got totally Blitzed! ;-)

I've got standard ride height and the car will have cats, so I should be ok. Ride height I think is good anyway, but of course the whole exhaust and everything would've been a lot simpler to do without the requirement that I can run cats.

Good to get to car content and step away from the vacation talk. This sort of vacation photos from Hvar would be totally off topic:
