I wonder what shape I should use for that. the old trapizoid didnt look that bad with a screen behind it.
Uproar (Ken) did a nice hood vent and splitter.

Sure did. I wonder if the black and red Miata apologized after the race. It looked like he punted the RX7 into the yellow Miata coming through T-1.

that is one of the really nice turbo Rx7 last gen racers. Nice guy too. I thought the miata punted or tried to punt the RX7, but he corrected and then the miata went for a off road farming spin. Ill have to watch it again. I think it was a matter of someone shutting a door while someone's foot was still in the doorway.

For the RX7 to step out that abruptly I think he had a little help from behind. He probably let off in the corner and the black and red Miata wasn't ready for it.

I gave him too much credit. The Rx7 closed the door and the poor miata had no where to go, and tapped him slightly in the door or rear, and kicked him out. In the mean time, the miata was forced to break and do a dirt manuver, for which he couldnt correct before he spun around. poor little miata. However, the spec Pinata miatas should be used to that.

Sometimes driving the school line through turn 1 in race traffic, can be a bitch for the guy behind you.

Default Blast from the past...

Hi Marky,

Don Hanson here. Glad to see you are still at it and getting some good times at T-hill. Crash? Turn 8? Sounds familiar. 1:48, I think was my best stroker time there...get that splitter and wing, get some good slicks and you will be there, no problemo.

I've avoided talking or even thinking about racing my 928 until just this morning....waay too painful to recall how much fun we had, since I had to $top racing and sell my Gnarly 928...

This morning I found your incar video from Laguna Seca PCA back in '03 after watching some of my buddies race their bicycles in this year's Sea Otter Classic bike race on the Laguna Seca track...I watched you out-driving me in that video (but you were recording from behind-smiley face-) and I decided I could now stand to return to contact with the 928 racing world. So I came onto the forum and first thing I see is a "Marky race report" Cool.

P-mail me and we'll touch bases..

Don Hanson

Hi Don, Welcome back.

That crash was at Sears Point, turn 9a and I suppose you were refering to your 1:48ish time there. My old car was running 1:47.9 as a best, but generally the last few years, has been in the 1:48s. with the new stroker, its only in the 1:47s . (about 1.5 seconds faster at most the tracks, so 1:37s at laguna and 1:59s at T-hill)

How are things? admire your self control to pull out of the racing thing when needed. I should have done it too last year, but I have not taken the cure! Its a drug as you know!

Thanks for the offer for the rear windows, I will take you up on those.

Laguna , '03 !!! I rememmber it well. Heck, without the video of your car, the video would have been boring! (not that I could have been in front, but I was happy with my first 1:40 low on the old laguna track with the stock 5 liter )

Ill pm you or call.

Here it is sneaking into the picture on pre-grid

I cant believe it actually finished a race. who would have guessed!

mk

Interesting blog on the LS3 powered Rx7 3rd gen. 1:54!! wow!

http://www.lpiracing.com/blog/default.asp

As a note, Rylans car now makes 530rwhp on the dyno at 19psi, which is just amazing out of a 2.2 liter.
He is now a turbo now.

It looks like I made the highlight clip, as I snuck into the picture of our grid before the race at T-hill.

1:48 at Thunderhill is VERY VERY FAST....thing GT3 Cup fast!!!!! Using typical formulas that would equate to about a 1:28 at Laguna....also VERY fast....

Maybe you can come race the Lemons 928 with us!!!!!!!!!!!!

I think he was referring to Sears point, where he did rip off a 1:48 back in the day.

Awesome video's. Love watching them and my little girls like watching them to. They laugh when they see the car spin out. They keep saying that's Daddy's car!

Your having way to much fun!

Have you ever thought of a little boost for the car? I am sure expense and wear and tear could cost major bucks!
