Default Which Aluminum Radiator to Buy???

I'm considering getting one. Has anyone compared the 928 International to the 928 Motorsports one? Are they about the same?

I don't have any idea from a performance standpoint, but I have one of each. I have one like the one shown in the 928 International link which has the inlet and outlet for both of the coolers in the left and right end tanks mounted with screw type holding points, while the other one has these inlet and outlet points welded in.

My welded-in radiator in not yet put in one of me cars, but I did have a problem with the screw type of mounting for the inlet getting loose when I was putting the fan shrould in and out and then I had a devil of a time finding where the coolant was leaking from. Turned out to be a loose inlet for one of the coolers that I had moved a little when I put the fan schroud back in. I tightened it and have had no problem since.

Other than that I would say that these are roughly equilivant. Too, there may be a very good reason why the inlets and outlets are not welded in on one of them, but I don't know.

I have sold plenty of the radiators supplied by 928 International and never had any issues.
Great product, well made and backed by Mark - does not get any better.

Not a good idea to use an aluminium rad if you are going to SC mounted on the front of the engine as the rad is thicker than stock.

I've got the C&R from 928intl. I did have to modify those screw mounts to fit the sharkblades but it was quick and painless. I've only had one issue and I created it by not using the correct allen bit on the drain plug. Pretty scary having to drill the $%\& thing out on a brand new rad!!!

Or you can have the tanks removed from your origonal rad and have new aluminum tanks made and welded onto the core.

Well that stinks I wanted to upgrade the radiator now with the supercharger going in. I'm not really into fabricating a bunch of mounts to fit it though...

I’ve seen several front mounted centrifugal superchargers with aftermarket radiators.

Following is just one example and here is a good thread on the topic.

One thing I do not get, there is not ten bucks worth of difference in the Behr rad for the 928 and one for a MB, Volvo or a BMW and I can buy three of them for the price of one Behr for the 928, captive market I guess.

They are a very good unit, but the price is out of reason.

I am having both cars fitted with 928 Int'l radiators. There are minor fitment/tab issues that need to be addressed at installation. Would be great, though too late for me, to have C&R address those as they have been an issue from the very beginning.

Roger has a good point here, you need to be sure there is enough clearance.

Thats my car pictured in post #10. the Aluminium Rad did fit, but over a 6 month period it rubbed against the intake caused a leak.

The al. Rad was push forward a far as it would go against the condensor and the condensor against the head light motor.

I finally went back with a Behr.

That's what surprises me too. I replaced the radiator in my 500E and it cost a whopping $360 about 5 years ago. I think the price is about the same now. Why the crazy price on the Porsche radiator???
