Just read this whole darn thread... I'm speechless. Well, to be honest, looking at the first pics on the thread I was speechless too! I would have given up right there. So from the bottom of my cynical heart that has now been warmed by your unwavering dedication to this project and to your son... My hat is off to you!

One day, not so far from now, you'll be looking silently at Marvin in the drive... alone in your thoughts, with a slight grin... when startled by a noise, you will turn quickly to see all of us from this thread sitting in your drive. And we'll be giving you the "Slow-Clap Wiserhood Society of Uncompromising Men Salute"

(It's a Canadian commercial - so here's an idea:
)

Thanks again for the inspiring read, and Good Luck on the last few steps! You're like a mountain climber with just an 8 hour hike through the warm foothills, with Everest at your back... already conquered!

Is that houndstooth fabric?

Have them make you a matching blazer.

Working on the driver door today. Thought I would add some pics on how I did the insulation. I used the Freeze King Duct Wrap as I did the other door.Then I added a run on 3M Strip Caulk to the door metal and edge on the insulation to hold and seal the wind plastic. I used a shower curtain liner . It easiest to cut it first the size of the door panel first I think. Hold it up and let the Strip Caulk do its thing.

Now its time to glue the new carpet to the door panel and re staple all the vinyl as good as I can. Also repaint every thing so its nice and new looking...or there abouts.

Driver door done for now. Missing the cap cover at door lock. Installed fuse panel today as well. Will need to review a few LOOSE wires and where they go. Closer all the time. Will tackle the dash area tomorrow. As soon as I figure out the vacuum routing I will feel much better. I am really thinking the car will be drivable in a couple week. !!! 2 years !

Dean,
That looks spectacular. In one picture the silver frame of the speaker is visible and distracting throught the panel perforations. You may want to paint the speaker frame black.
Keep up the great work.

DASH is IN !!! I think my Vacuum nightmare is over and well on my way. A pillar covers cleaned and installed. Removed gray felt OFF the visors ( not happy with the hand sewing I had to do there ). Cleaned and repainted them and reinstalled. Installed windshield whippers. Reinstalled the blower motor after a good cleaning and repaint.

Tomorrow I hope to have the green dash and pod in.

Got 95% of the center console in today. Holding off on a radio until after I am done. I think I will pull the trim plates back off as the paint is a tad too flat. I think it would look better with a little more shine like the original had.

Waiting on some parts before the pod goes in...but I hope it will be early in the week.

Anyway here are updated pics.
