No idea, yet.

I'm just saying that this is what my "pipe" program suggested.

But if I illegally enter your country does the government give me free healthcare, put my kids through school, pay me welfare, and not require me to pay taxes? Can I simply change my name to something else whenever I might somehow get in trouble...like when I have a traffic accident and I don't have any insurance...which is required by law?

Oh yeah...none of your police can ask me to prove I'm a citizen and belong in your country...that would be "discrimination" and is against the law...so there is no way to know if I'm illegal.

I'm just saying...it has gotten a bit "out of control", over here.

Not only that, but I think that in Europe they let non-citizens vote in local elections!

As have seen before the easy way to deal with "illegals" is to simply make them legal......helps greatly with the vote as well ! Everyone brace yourself for the VAT and no it will not replace the current income tax.....that is a pipe dream ! Frankly I am considering collecting Social Security to lock in my entitlement before congress has a chance to extend "normal retirement age" again and cut benefits......Great looking headers by the way !

More pipe pr0n. Less politics. We don't want this thread moved to P&C.

What are you doing to that poor piston?

Theirs but to do & die,
Into the valley of Death
Rode the eight pistons.

Compressor to right of them,
Turbine to left of them,

Volley'd & thunder'd;
Storm'd at with shot and shell,
Boldly they rode and well,
Into the jaws of Death,
Into the mouth of Hell
Rode the eight pistons.

Flash'd all their rings bare,
Flash'd as they churned in air
Sabring the flame front there,
Charging an army while
All the world wonder'd:
Plunged in the heat and smoke
Right thro' the ring land broke;
Cast & Lightened
Reel'd from the crank's stroke,
Shatter'd & sunder'd.
Then they rode back, but not
Not the eight pistons.

When can their glory fade?
O the wild charge they made!
All the world wonder'd.
Honour the pull they made!
Honour the Boost Brigade,
Noble eight pistons!

Didn't know Tennyson was a gearhead.

I figured you were working on fitting F355 heads to the 928 block and that was a relief for the 5th valve.

After two glasses of wine, one starts seeing new angles in old classics. And yes, the piston is custom designed for the rectangular fifth Ferrari valve.

The idea was to lower the static compression ratio without weakening the stock piston. The goal, which was achieved, was a 28cc dish.

The piston is originally an '87 piston, which is perfect for this purpose. The '87 piston has a large 23.6 cc dish, whereas the later S4/GT pistons have a smaller 20.7 cc dish. The '87 piston also has a thicker top, as discovered by Erkka and Tony.

The real challenge was to remove the material without weakening the piston. The dish was designed and implemented by two people: a well-known 928 guru and a piston expert who owns a company that lightens pistons. The logic of the design is to not weaken the parts of the piston that bear the load from the piston top to the piston pin.

Although the piston looks weird, adding this "soap dish" actually leads to a "more" compact combustion chamber (measured say by volume to surface area scaled to unit volume) than the stock piston. From the combustion perspective, compactness is the number one design goal.

Should that be sung to "Buffett's, Fins?" or "Dylan's, My Back Pages?"

I approve either way.

I should have been glued to my own car today but the tractor beam from the underside of William's car on the next lift over kept dragging me in. They've done some more prototyping of the headers and catback, here's the current setup on William's car. Not sure what all else is going to change. I did watch Steve uninstall and re-install the passenger side (read: the easy side) pretty quickly, one tube at a time.
