It depends on how much pressure is being put on ISPs. I know some here in the US are caving. You could use TOR software and its masked your ip, so its very difficult to track by ip.

Onion Routing differs from other anonymity services in three ways: Communication is real-time and bidirectional; the anonymous connections are application independent; and there is no centralized trusted component. Applications may choose whether to identify their users over an anonymous connection. However, the use of a switched public network should not automatically reveal who is talking to whom. This is the traffic analysis that Onion Routing complicates.
Good Luck

Hi,
Downloaded, installed and working perfectly in my Vista. Thanks to DR for the very well explained instructions! It was shocking to see everything pop up in Russian, but I followed his steps and it works without a hitch! I have PET 7.1 update 255/30 and it seems to work like a champ.

Sorry to say this, but somehow I doubt your statement is fully accurate.
Megaupload is a well known, reputable site. The file was clean on my computer. Not even an attempt to connect to the interwebs.
If you got spyware, it came from a different source.
(Or did you download the toolbar? Then its a different situation).
Got to say, I like the program.

No need to be sorry just beware!!!
I don't download any toolbars there are to many already. When did you download it from this site the last time? I followed the procedures of DR as in his post #22 using the first link the 2nd one no longer works and I got the program to work fine.
Just had the bad experience with that link and thought to make others aware of the potential hazard in my case Microsoft Security Essentials to care of this virus. I've been in IT for a little over 20 years by now and have battled my fair share of spyware.
Best to you

My download was ~4hrs ago. (When the thread came to my attention) I didn't bother to update mine since I figured the 928 parts should be finalized by now. Perhaps the update targets a hijacked server or something?
Good to know you got it cleaned up. Then again, from a guy with ".com" on his license plate (your avatar), I should have expected that.
