Well its interesting but you do realize it has seperate lenses for high-beam- where are they going to go - also how do these mount.. check that out... Seems they are discontinuing some...

I would say the "soft cutoff" represented as a good thing is a very interesting approach... soft cutoff = crappy focus. (The DOT would probably like it... ).

Still the idea of a fully integrated (desgned for HID) lens + 'bulb' is good .. but there are items for concern in their description...

What size lenses are these? - need some existence proof...

compared to USA Stock 8" H5's certainly true - compared to the ROW Stock 8" H4's that appear everywhere but the USA - almost certainly not... though they would be quite close - the Cibies are good and the earlier ROW H4 7" are very good too..

The separate lenses apply to the 5.25" sealed beams, not the 7". These use halogen for the high beams and hid for lows in the same housing. There is a projector version that is a full hid solution, but installing those on a 928 would make it look like it has nipples. I like nipples, but not on my 928. I've seen these lights mentioned on the jeep forum and a hummer forum. Here on Rennlist though, they haven't been discussed much. A 911 guy tried it and then went back to installing euro lenses. A couple of 944 guys seemed to be toying with the idea as well.

In general, how does upgrading to 7" h4 at higher wattage compare to hids in general? Has anyone bumped the wattage on the driving/fog lights at the same time?

7" Cibies. FWIW my old 928 had 8" euro H4s installed and I swear these 7" lights are considerably better. Might have something to do with older reflector vs. brand new, but I don't think you can go wrong with these. Especially for the price. Personally I prefer the look, but then I have different tastes than many.
