I'm new here and was wondering if anyone has removed those cheap plastic air tubes that lead to the air box and just run straight pieces of tubing? Those places where the tube "necks" down have to decrease the airflow big time No?

The 928 was designed to use 8 inch H-4 headlights but the DOT said you must run sealed beam headlights in the USA ( no replacable bulb) further the H-4 lens aims higher and has less cutoff to avoid blinding on coming traffic also illegal and lacked the raised nubs for headlight aiming equipment . Porsche responded by mounting standard single hi/low sealed beam 7 inch lights and added the infamous chrome trim ring made of plastic to fill the gap to the painted cover. Then in 1987 they introduced the 8 inch H-5 light which uses a replaceable bulb ,the rules changed in the US' BUT is focused more like the old 1957 Chev style 7 inch seal beam.....In Europe etc. they used the 8 inch H-4 lights which project much further good when pounding along the autoban at night at 120 MPH or 200 KPM
the light all interchange. The 7 inch H-4 is an illegal replacement for a 7 inch sealed beam and is sold as a offroad only item but many find their way onto the street recent years headlights have morfed into so many styles that enforcement is none existant. The 7 inch H-4 is very inexpensive allows you to run higher watt brighter bulbs....the 928 specific 8 inch H-4s are expensive !

The Thunderbolts and the Corsairs are damn big glorious birds.
Nearly as big as the Nissan GTR and the Porsche Panabananarama.
Did they run any V8's in the warbirds or just the V12 Merlins and Allisons?
V12's are Ferrari, Jaguar and Aston territory.

Very hard to make a V-8 big enough or smooth enough the two inline six cylinders on a common crank is vastly superior.....

Great pics! These birds look like thery are flying about the East San Gabriel Valley, Chino Hills and Corona area of SoCal area. I suspect they are from the Chino Airfield and their Planes of Fame Squadron. When the air is clear of smog that is pretty scenery and backdrop for these planes.
