My new GTS

My new GTS
Hi everyone,
After many years of thinking about it I took the plunge and bought a '93 GTS just before Christmas, due to work commitments I only collected the car a few weeks ago and now find myself using the 928 in preference to any of my other cars.
The car is from the Japanese market and is in fantastic condition with only a few marks and a bit of scuffing on the driver seat side bolster (which seems to be a common issue) the passenger seat base is also quite hard (I guess from sun and lack of being sat on) but some hide food should fix that. Mileage is just under 80k
With being a Japanese model the dash is in KPH and the radio has a different frequency range from the UK; the radio has now been changed to a Nakamachi CD400 (with a little help from posts on the forum) and a replacement dash has been bought from Ebay - will take a little while to build up the courage to do the change - but with the help of the post on the task on the forum I feel reasonably confident to do the work.
One thing which I had hoped was that there was a switchable KPH to MPH function and it seems that in the US market this does exist; unfortunately not for Japan though.
I have added some photos but you will need to excuse the composition - they were taken for the Insurance company.
The 928 joins a small collection of other 'classics' but at the moment is easily my favourite;
'67 Maserati Quattroporte
'69 Jensen Interceptor
'94 Jaguar XJS
'04 Audi S4 Cabriolet
If you're ever in Glasgow and see me then give a wave.
Cheers,
John.

Congrats, I really think the Japanese cars are fantastic looking, and overall seem to be in great shape.

Welcome, very nice. Love that color!!
Ps. release the tension on the flexplate, check crank end play and check the timing belt asap if you haven't done so already.

Thanks for the comments.
The car was from a company called Performance Legends in Wrexham and advertised on Pistonheads; however I actually did the deal on ebay and I paid less than 70% of the PH price!
The guy at Performance Legends was not best pleased with the price but honoured the deal; he had imported the car and spent money at Loe Bank Motors getting a checkover which included a new cambelt, fuel hoses and brake flex-hoses. The invoice doesn't mention the flex plate being checked so I'll chase that up.
I would seriously recommend Performance Legends as the guy was great and they have a good stock of interesting Japanese Imports.

Is it typical for the Japanese models to include the flares around the wheel well?
