Some things on a 928 are way more difficult than they need to be, right?
What's your vote for the most ridiculously and unnecessarily PITA service effort on a 928?
Here are a few of my favorites![banghead](https://rennlist.com/forums/graemlins/banghead.gif)
- Removing a cam cover (esp. passenger side)
- The impossible bolt into the console above the glove-box on an airbag car
- Re-attaching gas tank straps after taking them loose to change the fuel pump

Getting clear visibility and access to the ground point located behind the passenger interior quarter panel.
Access to the windshield washer pump on the passenger inner fender.
Unfastening the top drivers bellhousing bolt that holds the Bowden cable retainer (at least as installed on the 84MY )
Inability to get the lower front timing belt cover off for complete tensioner access without unbolting and detaching the harmonic balancer.
Interference of the rear linkage boot with the job of getting the cone bolt in/out of the trans coupler.

Ohhh, this is a game I can play.
1. Personal gripe. I hate putting an alternator back on '87+ cars. Damn bolt/shroud
2. Auto Trans service requiring rear suspension pulled out of car.
3. Previous owner electrical hack jobs.
4. 85-86 fuel cooler line to dampener
5. CIS
6. In-tank fuel pumps
7. Torque Tubes removal
8. CLUTCH MASTER CYLINDERS
That's all for now, in 10 minutes I'm sure I'll dig in to something else that will annoy me.

"Design flaws" would be a separate thread. My WIFE would be posting about ME in that one!

Writing the check for the car when you first purchase it knowing it won't be your last.

One man's PITA is another man's easy job.
For example, the bellhousing bolts aren't bad, if you have four feet of extensions and flex sockets. The gas tank straps aren't bad if you have a couple of threaded rods about a foot long. Water pump gaskets are easier with long headless bolts with a screwdriver slot on the end.
Perhaps we need to start a sticky thread of tips and tricks. No whining, no chatter, just tips and tricks...
