Default Oil question - Yes, another one :) Weight for TX?

OK, I found a guy literally a half a mile from my house who carries Brad Penn but he only has the 20w50.

That weight should be OK for my southern climate right? I can't think of any reason why it wouldn't be, I'm using 15w50 now.

Just thought I'd start another oil thread this week and ask, just in case

Thanks!

I would suggest that you do a search for oil , as there are so many ideas on this is not worth trying to retype this kind of info, let us know what you find out

I know this is a religious debate and I have no interest in revisiting any of that.

I'm going to use the Brad Penn, just was wondering about weight in my climate. Seems like 20w50 is fine so I'm off to buy 2 cases of it.

thanks

Isn't 0-20 in Amsoil good enough?

We use Royal Purple 20W 50 with no problems.

+1 for Brad Penn...I'm in Florida, I made the switch to Brad Penn 20w 50. SO in Texas you should be about the same temp.

And if you find any, stake a claim.

I should have known better than to start an oil thread......

Anyway, I've changed it to Penn 20w50, it runs fine and that's it for me on this one.

According to the threads I've read the engine will either simultaneously explode for me using dino oil, or it will run til the end of time.

Guess I'll find out..... I've been using Mobil1 for the last 10 years of owning the car.

Jay,
What store did you find that Brad Penn in? There is a place in Kennedale that sells the Torco products.
