I didn't want to speak about it since many of you know the owner and his family and also didn't want to tip anyone to it's sale:

It's been mentioned before, looked like a nice example. Someone mentioned Mark Anderson's son's car perhaps? IIRC.

Doesn't look particularly special to me.

Yes it was. It's a daily driver but everything that can be updated or fixed was. 996 18" cup wheels. Interior was very good-some issues but overall good.

Ah bad timing...

Yup, for the price someone got a lot of car. The key is not the mileage but the way it has been cared for and certainly parts would not be a problem for that car to get fixed with, hence it was always kept in top condition is my guess! A bit high on the miles maybe, but as long as the interior is not worn out (which would be my only real concern with the mileage) then the car was a veritable bargain at $10k I would think...

The interior was good, not great, but typical for mileage. It had a tear in the rear leather console and some wear in the seats. Typical dash cracks. Some carpet wear-but probably a good detail and shampoo was needed.

The car had been repainted but it was done right so far as I could see from pix.

A dealer here in the east bought the car. I might end up paying more to get it later...ugh...

I saw it at Sharktoberfest 2009, and I think that he was asking a little more at that time. No question in my mind that it is worth $10K

"Would not respond to request to view car 1st, canceled transaction instead." from previous listing of this car I think. Might be more to the story than this, but surely, if he wanted to sell he would have accomodated the buyer. his feedback is 66%, not too cool.

After the person bid and won the car and the auction was over he asked to have the car checked out before he went forward with the sale. My son was more than willing to have that done before the auction closed.

Actually he got screwed-we spoke about it. The buyer did not respond even after he brought it to the case to Ebay. Then he gave him negative feedback weeks later. My brother viewed the car on my behalf without issue. He was very honest and answered every single question for me.

If nothing else, it was a great learning experience.

Thanks everyone!

My guess is that your son knoww more about 928's than all but a few people who can do a PPI on a 928.

Yes my son learned lots as well through the experience. It took selling it 3 times before someone actually went through with the money.

He did learn a lot over the past 4 years but we would have had Greg do a PPI for anyone who wanted (or they could choose their own)
