The car that was discussed before on this forum was the first conversion. That conversion had a 160shp turbine, this is a rare 550shp that was used for recon during the Vietnam war. Stock 928 HP fot this year as you may know is on 220hp. When this thing spools up, it sucks you into the seat.

walk us through how the power is applied. is it like a fixed gear electric motor, or does it use gears like an automatic? the rpm on the turbine said 2800. was that just the starter portion, as I though that this type of centifugal turbine spun up over 60krpm.
its rated at 550hp, so what rpm and torque does it produce this at? too bad you dont have that exhaust pointing to the rear, to take advantage of the afterburner thrust, or do you just use that for downforce.

The funny thing is when I drive this car around, people always look up to the sky and never the car...then I go tight pass them and they look at the car monetarily...then when I pass...they look up again. It's only when I pull in to park the jet carn thats when they realize that all that noise is coming from my car. Very funny the first time I drove the car.

I'm in Montrose. I plan to take this to Bob's big boy in Burbank when Jay Leno brings his Eco Jet turbine car. I don't know when that would be....

Mike that is insane. Hope I can see it live one day! Can you do afterburner pops like the jets at the drag strip. Would be neat to see at night! Thanks for posting. Great project!

I was wondering, Do we get any kind of discounts in parts and accessories from places like 928motorsports? I want to purchase their Race Roll Bar, wide Corbeau CR1 Seats.
Thanks for all the positive compliments on the jet car.

Cool car. There's no 'discount' from belonging to rennlist that I know of.
The T50 comes in several flavors. There's one on ebay right now mated to a Chevy trans asking $5k if someone else wants to get in the Kerosene lane.

Have you considered shifting the car into neutral when you want to slow down?
Maybe reworking the valve body?
150+ mph is that exhaust going to get pesky?
BTW here in SoCal we have at LEAST half a dozen guys named Mike with a 928.

Top stuff Mike. Also impressed with your airhorns; always went on sailing holidays as a child and was fascinated by the various foghorns of boats, buoys and lighthouses.
