Change is good and this sounds like fun. An official party in the parking lot sounds like the way to go. Nobody has to drive home and we do it every Friday night anyhow.

Ever walked into a City Hall and say "Can I have your WHOLE Town for a day for all my 928 Friends?" and have the immediate reply be "Sure, and we have gravel lots off of main street where "other cars" can park ". Then, "Do you want us to block off Main Street and direct traffic around the town OR do you want our Police to make "others cars" drive thru at only 5mph so they can see all of the cool cars and cheer you on?". I say "let me think on that". Then have the Fire Chief say "You want us to set up our Ladder truck so you can take aerial photos of your event?" (calling Ernest) ... I say " OH YEAH!!"..... and on, and on.....

After that meeting, walk across the street to the "World Famous" Brick Oven Pizzeria, Bar and Arcade and say "Can I have your WHOLE Facility for the Day for just 928ers only to hang out" and have the reply be "Sure, absolutely and I have a garage/detailing bay area in the back if you need it "!

I LOVE the North Carolina Mountains!!

Knowing you as well as I do I have NO doubt. :-)

You WILL Love the Pizza, but don't get too carried away with the "arcade thing" it is a VERY small town and it ain't no "Myrtle Beach", BUT it will be great for the kids (of all ages).

Also the owner is BIG fan of imported beers (200+ brands in the bar)..BUT no promises just yet (fingers crossed).

Dang! Yippee! Wowza! Oh boy! Sheeey*t! Just what I was hoping! This is great, and not for just this year, but for the future of SITM - those of you who don't know this area, you are in for a REAL TREAT, and many thanks to Jeannie and DR for getting this together. I got my room right after the first of the year, and then rotater cuff surgery and a friend's wedding (yeah, I tried to twist his arm to talk him out of it, right, umm...) got me thinking to cancel, and then this news - gotta be there.

But really, take Dave's words to heart and keep the partying to the motel parking lot. They're used to us...

Feeling confident it's gonna work out, made the Town Manager look me in the eye and shake on it (that still means a lot in this area). Just nailing down the details and waiting on final approval of my other "requests/suprises". Some of which involves a few private citizens to approve (but luckily they are members of the City Council :-). But, those are just icing on the cake deals at this point. Also have to get final approval from another nearby Town to complete my "vision", but that should be an easy one and is not absolutely necessary.

OH, sorry to tell you guys :-) ...BUT you are gonna have at least 4 new "people" staying AND partying at the Hotel Friday and Saturday night!
