Default 2 Months Till "SITM - 2010"

I've never been. actually, I just bought my first porsche this past September. This event is the one I am awaiting. I have read alot of other SITM threads and was waiting for the 2010 version to surfice. I figured why wait, I'll start....

Just 2 months and the countdown has begun.....

My plan is to leave Grimsby Ontario on Thursday morning, and be-line it to the tail of the dragon for a 'first drive' thursday evening. stay the night. give it another go in the morning(friday), taking advantaage of the light. Then head down to SITM.

just Googled it. 12 hrs to the dragon, then 3 hrs to SITM.

any thoughts?

The ride from the Dragon to SITM is more like 6 hrs if you do the Skyway and a more Scenic run.
We had eight last year!

Oh and bring a two way radio too.

Drive the Dragon on Thurday evening - if you're up for it. It is an experience, but not as good these days as they dropped the speed limit to 35MPH and it is heavilty patroled.

For Friday, I would highly recommend taking the Cherohala Skyway. Awesome road. See if you can find a route that keeps you off the interstate. It's be the best driving you've ever had!

The Detroit crew has done this the past 3 years and always say how much fun it is. We usually stay the night in Alcoa, TN.

5-months... CAN'T WAIT!

We usually grab a hotel right by Tyson McGee airport. I think last year we stayed at Comfort Suites. It's only 25-30 min away from the Dragon and very reasonably priced.

Are you guys planing routes?

I have been planning a few using Mapsource, and I think there are a couple of "Madd Map" tours of the blue Ridge Parkway.

If any body else is using the Garmin software we can exchange routes to preview them.
