Does that lead to the Alpen where I stayed in 08? What a hill.

The Hill Climb course is the back side of the city (opposite side from Banner Elk).

Here is a good full course run in a 280Z, note all the parked race cars at the very end (hint) ....... :-)

Just for a little trivia, here is a great in car video of the nearby Chimney Rock Hill Climb, the big daddy predecesor to the other Hill Climb videos I posted.

No run off, basically a single lane monster to the top of Chimney Rock Park. I can't remember how many years I went to this as a kid, lasted for decades. Sucked when the new Park owners killed it.

Cool vids. Can't seem to find the in-car video of Kim John Crumb driving the Devek white car in the Virginia City Hill Climb. It was awesome.

Congrats DR on the change of venue. Sounds very exciting, wish I could make it this year.

Mmmm k? Do you have some cross-dressing fetish fantasy that involves me? You're really scaring me here. In case I gave you a wrong vibe or something, I am 100% heterosexual! Are we clear?

DR- This sounds like an awsome venue. June can't get here soon enough.

Man those roads look awesome!

Sounds like GFM did us all a huge favor. Is it safe to say that GFM will be ruled out on future events?

Can't wait to go again this year and looking foward to the new venue as well as seeing old friends and meeting new.

Remember... in the mountains you need sun butter just like if you were going to the beach. At the same time, sometimes a jacket is required then again sometimes it's as hot as a brick oven.

I've learned both the hard way.

That would be a pretty safe bet.

The new location just plain out offers so much more for EVERYONE. There are cool shops and places for the wives, GFs, kids etc. to walk around to and enjoy themselves...especially for when they get tired of watching us standing and staring at 928s , etc. :-)

Jeannie and my vision for Sharks in the Mountains was for it to always truly be a family event. I know good and well for the "less than totally addicted 928ers" walking around in a grass field looking at the same trees has to get VERY old and VERY boring after just a short while. We want EVERYONE that comes to have the best most enjoyable time they can possibly have..AND I am very confident I have just the place for that.

Being the first time at a new location I know we won't get it "exactly right" this time, and it may be a little rough around the edges, but we will learn, adapt and make it better and better each coming year.

I will say I was VERY proud and VERY humbled, thanks to everyone that has come and made all of the past SITM events so successful, to walk into meetings and pass out pics of our past events and hear everyone say ... WOW!!

THANKS!

Yes, jackets AND sunscreen are highly recommended. The Town's elevation is over 5500' (only 400' less than the TOP of GFM)..BUT this year we will have nice climate controlled indoor places to hang out when desired. :-)

Dave this should work out awesome. I know my wife mentioned that she would be interested in going and if there are shops and things to do she may be encouraged to go a second or third time!

Thanks again for putting such a big effort into putting this event on.

Just an FYI.

I went on the Best Western's website to look for rooms and they show that they are SOLD OUT for that weekend!

I called them and got a room for the $85/night rate!

So Dave, did you block out the entire hotel?

Thank you!

Can't wait. ONLY 10 WEEKS!!
