Coming from midsized Audis, I've always considered the 928 fairly small and sporty.

I parked next to a cayman for a few weeks this summer and grew to really appreciate the lines on the 928.

No desire for me to "upgrade".

Yes the 911(996,997) /Box/Cayman which are the same car from the rear of the doors forward all grew up reached middle age put on a lot of weight and got wider and all retain water..... the 928 is LARGE when compared to a 77 model 911 or a 914 but Porsche does not make little sports cars anymore. VW probably will Right about the time they kill the Cayenne and Panamera.

What I was struck with most was the hood line. It is uniformly lower than the Boxster, from the base of the windshield to the bumper. And there's a V8 crammed in there! The Boxster also looks wider, and those headlights look like great big bugeyes compared to the smaller, more elegant (and brighter!) lights on the 928.

Of course, look at both cars compared to the Corolla on the other side.

928's are like a lot of girls now days. Small until you look at the butt. LOL

PS. I love the 928 look. I like big butts and I can not lie.

The 928 has a very long hood. Aside from that it's a small car by most standards. Look at the new retro muscle cars they are huge!

Yeh, but apparently neither one is small enough to fit in a parking space.

Compared to my 951 the 928 is big. But not as big as my Suburban. ;-)

Before I brought the 928 home, I started measuring the parking spage in the garage to see how it would fit. Imagine my surprise when the tape measure came out, and the shadow of the 928 was within inches of the size of the 4dr gen1 Explorer that already lived in the garage. The 928 took just a tiny bit more (OK, a LOT more...) space than the series 1 Lotus Europa that normally lived there at ground level. So the Europa went to a new owner, 2 scooters went to storage, the LeGrand went up on the wall, with two other Lotus cars hanging from the ceiling. Got a little cramped feeling in the two-car garage.

EPA called these sub-compacts thanks to the interior dimensions.

Maybe, but the Boxster weighs 500 lbs less.

Park in a deck with the yay-hoos I have to deal with and you'd maximize your spot too! I should walk around and take pics of the parking idiocy, but sometimes with my normal DD I need a can opener to get back in the car. And the Boxster was first, I just followed his example.
