Don,
I replaced every rubber hose under the intake and the gaskets. The rubber into the oilfiller was hard like wood and not flexible.
I also change the injectors against ford racing 24 lb. I think 300 € for rubberparts, 200 € for the gaskets and 160 € for the injectors.
The modifications on the S 2 throttlebody cost 100 € and the ISV 150 €.

Don - My bride hijacked next Saturday. In her opinion, the Rodeo is what we need to be doing. After the dough I just dropped this am on whells and tires (I blaming you by the way), I need to agree with her. I would like to dyno this month though. I started a thread a couple weeks back and got a response on two recommended dyno shops. Man those chips are SA...WEET. I'll be available Sun afternoon if you need a hand with your a/c.

Ken,
Thank you so much - excellent job on the new version! I too will try to get to the dyno, but the butt-dyno definitely says a lot more mid-range torque.

If anyone has an S3 and does not have Ken's setup, DO IT NOW! Especially if you have an auto (like me) - the difference is huge. The car runs as smooth as stock (idle too), and the power increase is great.

Mike - thanks again for talking me into it and arranging the installation GTG last year. Hope to catch up with you guys soon.

Order placed! When they arrive, I will have new chips, fuel lines and 87 FPR to install.

(AC is now blowing cold. Got the new hose on today, and everything charged up. Why was I so scared of AC work?)

Don, me too, have 3 cars with compressors that spin when jumpered. Might need to get inspiration from you on this.

I just drove my car with the "s300" chips- it definitiely has more mid-range torque- pulls really hard from 2500 up, and is very noticeable at part-throttle everyday driving.
Very nice Ken!

I did the first test drive on dry autobahn. The car runs 267 km/h.This is GPS reading.10 km/h faster than before and I think the car is even faster.
I think the new chips and the 80 mm throttle body are more than 13 HP, maybe 20-25.

166 mph!

My S3s do that all the time...on the dyno.

Does it feel like it has more torque at high rpm with the larger TB?

I have a 5 speed 1 : 2.75 LSD ,the same as the gearbox in the GT and your car.Tyres are standard GTS Cup 2.

Ken, Jochen drove the car and say the car has more torque over the whole range and hasn´t the characteritic of a S 3.Impressive is the fact the car reach this speed in the night with open headlights and ac off.
I think the top end is better and driving fast is a pleasure.Businesspeoplecars with great dieselengines aren´t a problem anymore like A 6 3.0 tdi and BMW ! ;-)
Ken,you need a big TB! ;-)
Tomorrow Bernd goes with his 85 S 3 racer to the dyno with camshafts with 0,7 mm more lift.
I post the dynograph.

It's true! But I can't convert both cars, because I need one that's near stock for tuning. (I need another 5-speed, plus a S2...)

As soon as this tank of gas is finished, I'm going to work on a Super only EZF chip (USA 91 octane, R+M/2). That might help me keep up with your dyno numbers. 'Not for export.'

If that does make more power, I will try making a dual chip with an external switch for a real octane selector.

We in Germany haven´t normal gasoline, only super and super plus. 95 and 98 octane. The cheap stuff is for the cars in the colonies !! ;-)
The S 2 have an octane selector. 95 or 98 octane.If I drive my S 3 with super plus i can use an "Überchip" . ;-)
I sent you Bernd the mason. He can build you a garage for your " fleet" !

EU 95 = ~90 US, DE 98 = ~93 US

The S3 has the same 'octane switch' AKA 'octane loop' as the S2, but it is very simple on the EZF. It only makes the EZF think the air temperature is very high. My switch would change the whole chip version, using a double size EPROM.

The LH has a real octane switch which is an input to the processor, but it does not anything noticeable with the stock chips. With LHv1.7 I have reprogrammed it to make the WOT fueling about 0.5 AFR richer when the connectors are plugged together.
