Impressive high tech oilcanister in your car! ;-) I think this feature likes TÜV a lot!

TÜV is a real pain in the ***.I think I can change the complete exhaust with x pipe for the next inspection.
People outside of germany life in paradise. In germany you need for every tuning part a "ABE" or "ein Gutachten".
A document with the technical permission for using it in streetdriving.

Not the model but here's the part numbers I researched. There is a thread about fans with all this info, somewhere, too.

Soon, I hope to have a better solution. First up, a replacement for the oil fill tower using a S4 filler o-ring! (No more leaks!?)

I'll be drilling and tapping the plate for at least one 90° 1" pipe->hose connector. The hose will go under the coolant bridge on the pass. side. From there, though, it's still a mystery.

(R-werk thread)

I tried the aux. fan switch part # 823 959 481 75-70C 167-158F and it would not thread into the radiator. (MY '85)
I ended up replacing the switch with part # 823 959 481F 92-87C 198-188F (stock)
which did thread into the radiator.

Looks very good. But the mainproblem is the coolantbridge in the front of the engine.

I went nuts! All rubberlines in the intake are hard and crisp. The elbow is loose and the tubes from the lpg system are attached to the intakerunners.
But the promise of 350 crank HP put mountains away! ;-)

My new chips arrived today! :-)

Ive been running my car with the filter box and filter recently, but no lid. that seems like it works pretty well, but no dyno proof. anyone ever dyno that change? Just the lid removed, but the filter intact? (rubberbanded in place).

Ill be cutting my holes in the firewall side to get the vents for my air box completed, then do some speed tests.

I see you are also sans fan and airpump- do you have an elec fan to replace the stock belt-driven one?

So were the 80mm throttle bodies just on Euros, or were they on the US cars as well? What vehicles can you find these on?

Both of my GTS's (and both run pretty well...though the '92 is surging at full throttle) dynoed in the mid 280's RWHP and 305ish RWTq... Seems weak to me, but with mid 260's from my S4 I guess they are about where I should expect them to be with no extra tweaking on them.

I think the auto trans REALLY suck a lot of power out of the 928...a whole lot!

@ Benton,
just Euro S with 300 or 310 HP.
My shop here in Germany rebuild also S 4 intakes with 80 mm throttlebody in exchange.

You can´t mill the 75 mm tb from the S 3 out.The structure is to weak and break!!!My S 3 tb is broken on the cnc bench.

In the next 4 weeks I will dyno my car with the 80 mm tb and a friend has chips from ken for his S 3 racer with cams with more lift.
Comparing this two dynoruns will be interessting.

@ James

Most GTS didn´t reach 350 HP.The owner of my favorite 928 shop say the best 928 engine is the S 4 and GT engine.
Most GTS are in the 330-340 HP range and the engine has a lot of design flaws.

Mark - Darklands name is Karsten.

The '86 S2 16V throttle body is the closest to a 32V, with the same gated throttle plate action. Very little to swap. The other years need more disassembly to work with the S3 linkage directly.

For my '85 5-speed, I'm considering converting to a 16V throttle cable, and do away with the front linkage.

Keith's (928ntslow) '93 GTS 5-speed did very well with a X-pipe. 330hp/350tq rwsae IIRC.

Keith has 330 hp at the wheels?
We must invent the S 3 further! ;-)

How can I put my name under the post permanent ?

Not a bad idea. I can vouch that it is an unpleasant surprise when you get the hose clamp out of place on the radiator hose and it binds the throttle linkage at WOT. It ends in a lot of noise and smoke, which is entertaining for bystanders, but probably a little bad for the heart.

^^^ Mine acted like a ramp and disconnected the throttle linkage every time I pushed on the gas. Quite a surprise.
