Same questions.

I can see folks up here in Yankee Land wanting these. So, I'd like to know how it plugs-and-plays with the factory wiring.

They replace the top portion of the switch only. You can hook them up to any 12 Volt source, easiest way is probably the clock´s light bulb.

AWESOME ROGER

Keep up the good work! Very cool!

One thing i LOVED about the BMW M5's i used to own, was that they had the shift pattern illuminated on the shift lever, that was so cool the first time i saw it illuminated...... maybe.....

There are variations to suit all years and tastes, with or without wiper.
With V8 without V8.
I just brought in an intial 10 sets and had to decide at that point what variation.

Remove and replace the switch cover and run some small diamter wiring back to a source, permantent or switched. Comes complete with the light source and wiring.

Will be fitting a set to my GTS asap.

Rob and Paul, et al,

Yes - if you've removed the rear wiper (as I have in my GTS), you can replace that switch with the 944/968 hatch switch - goes in perfectly. OR - you can just rewire the OE wiper switch to the current hatch switch beside the door. I did that, (and bought a used 968 hatch switch - just for the cover piece which I snapped onto my OE wiper switch), then removed the pull switch on the driver's side, and filled in the hole with a piece of carpet (the GTS did not have the passenger side switch). Thus, the appearance on both sides is now "clean", and I can easily access the hatch switch when I open either door.

Roger - if you ever get these with the 928 hatch symbol on one - I'll be interested in a set!!

These are very cool. Are they LED, if so the power draw would be low enough to
tie into just about anything, I would think.

Has anyone thought about doing something similar with the interior door handle inserts? Maybe make one with a translucent patch and an LED bulb behind it that ties into the door light or window power?

Roger - I don't have, er.... I mean won't have, a sunroof on my car when it is finished. Do all the buttons come with the order V8 and blank, or are they as you have pictured only?

BTW - sent an email with order request last night as instructed.

The V8 is an option as is no switch for the wiper.
Working out all the options with the manufacturer.
For your car I would suggest windows and sunroof only with a blck for the wiper.
I have asked about the hatch symbol in place of the wiper switch.
Also amber back lighting to compliment the instrument lights.

I am interested in a set with the amber lighting and optional hatch logo, it would be great to have those choices. BTW, are these LED or incandescent back-light? It would be nice if they could be tied in with the instrument dimmer - a minor issue for the LED. It would require inserting a small PWM circuit that uses the factory dimmer pot as the reference. Do you think you could get some specs on the light source so we could look into dimmer options?
