I have son e stainless steel Devek Level II headers. they have some straight tube damage on 2 pipes that i would think, could be fixed. anyone know who could do such work?

That's a super easy fix. Order up some SS bends and straight from Verocious Motorsports and get them welded in. Probably $50 in parts and that much again in labor.

I just saw an amazing exhaust at S-Car-Go in San Rafael. I was truly intrigued at the engineering and the extreme attention to detail. I was told that the fabricator who does them is a meticulous craftsman (and it shows). Thats who I'd call if I was in your situation. At least to get an opinion.

just pull them out, not going to make 1/2 horse power worth of difference anyway.
I understand that these are stainless, so rust is not a problem.
Rusty headers will knock some real power off, dented, not so much.

the picture doesnt show the area well. there are two places on each dented header pipe where 360 degree welds can be made. however, pulling the dented area out sounds interesting. It would be nice to keep the same material as we know of the extreme temps these things go through, and there would be no coating over the new stuff, but I guess we could wrap it or send it out again to jet hot.
Or, do i just find some 1.6" straight pipe and have it welded in?

Another suggestion - Sanderson Headers (517 Railroad Ave., Dept. SC, San Francisco, CA 94080, (650) 583-6617, www.sandersonheaders.com
They made the headers for the LS1 Miata (which lost to Brian's Widow in the Jalopnik poll sometime back), and they came out nicely.

Performance Fabrication in Belmont did a nice job fabbing/welding a new pipe from my resonator to muffler, making the Borla cat-back work on my '78. They had some really cool projects in the works when I was there, I'd be surprised if they couldn't handle this. I don't have the number but they are off of Industrial near Whipple IIRC. Should be easy to find.

yeah, thats some nice stuff!
that might be my next call after jerry woods, but they might be a little too pricey
also, MSDS has said they might do it, but I would have to ship it, and that drives the cost up a little.
