Awesome news! I hope the "shake down" will be successful, and you can start to fully enjoy this beast!

a little update with pics of my work. engine break in is progressing. (thanks again to greg brown) hope to be driving tomorrow. one small leak at the upper end of the lower radiator hose, the clamp needs replacement. trying to find the correct type has proven difficult. car sounds really good. hope this engine is a winner.

thanks Nicole, i'll be in touch soon for some "upgrades" to my lenses.
Tuomo- i did leave the stock cams in place. probably not the best idea, but i think it will give me a baseline for future power enhancers. cams, exhaust, ?

Exciting new opportunities to tear the engine apart again! ;-)

One cool project would be to put the following cam package in: Elgin 65-6 cams, light-weight lifters, strong cam chains, PAC beehive springs with tiny retainers, balance-ported intake manifold with one spacer, and the Gates racing timing belt. Dennis Kao (GT), Jim Morton (GTS), and my new engine not yet in the car built by Jim (S4 turbo) all have some variations of that. Photo below.

Another cool project would be to get those stealth headers and exhaust from Greg Brown. The gains with Sharktuning on a GTS were impressive.

The two together might give a nice power boost after competent Sharktuning. Also, they are not blatantly illegal either in the sense that it's hard to tell from the outside that everything is not stock, emissions hardware is retained in stock locations, and the exhaust coming out of the tail pipe is likely to be comfortably within any applicable regulations.
