update on Black Widow....??? if running tomorrow?
Okay so I stopped by the race shop today to check on the progress of the Black Widow....things are coming along, but might not make the track day tomorrow morning to due a critical part missing....a 32V power steering mount-bracket.....we'll see
Anyway here are some pics of the updates of version 2.0 as I call it....oil cooler, porkensioner, new motor mounts, Doc Brown pan spacer & accusump (not pictured).....
Also heres a scary pic....what happens to a piston that goes from 5th gear to 1st during a race...not pretty

With the spacer isnt the idea to use hondabond to seal and not to use a real gasket in there to allow it to be held tighter with bolts that can actually be torqued down?
And WTF does he use that 42mm socket on???
Last comment is I cant believe you arent doing this all yourself. Thats half the fun your missing out on!

Good luck, Brian. I don't know what Sharky would say though...I don't bring up "The Widow" in her presence....

So Sorry we couldnt get her to the track brian, but now at least its not a rush to get it going where something could potentially go wrong. accusump wiring works on the new dash cluster.
that 42mm socket is for driving in oil seals

looks good Brian, almost there !
Myself tought to have the engine in the second racer this week .... nono, seems also the bellhousing is different for a single plate clutch .... so , again , waiting parts.... ( already had the pusharm ordered and the centering tube as i had seen this was different... ) hadn't seen or measured the bellhousing...

I knew we had to carve out some areas when we put the dual disc set up on the stock S4 upper bell housing set up, using the older lower bell housing set up to allow for starter bolted directly to the lower bellhousing. lots of rubbing . but nothing that a few mins with a grinder couldnt fix perminantly. but the other way around? thats strange the other way around would be an issue.

sorry you didnt get the Widow out for a run. Those tires look great. they are not even at the shaved level yet. anyone that is even tracking their car a few times a year should get these tires for their daily drivers. I just pulled off some 25heat cycle tires off my B set and they are still decent, but they were shaved first too.
Looks like you got a lot of cool mods now. be interesting to see how the oil cooler works, but you never got an oil temp reading did you? THAT should be the mod you should have now!
I got to 260F oil temp in the last 100F degree thunderhill race last month. usually a tick below that. Amsoil can handle it!! (knock knock)
Have fun out there if you go with the Bmmer.

i happen to run 195 R888s on my '72 ghia, man i sure changed the car, its already slammed so the ride wasn great and the stiff shorter sidewalls didnt help but its not bad and definatley worth the face bend action in the turns.

the single plate clutch goes in the bellhousing but... with the bearing /centering tube already just against those 2 cast supports to bolt that centering tube.... so no room for the 2 bolts ( M6 ), no room for disengaging... ... i don't know right now.... but i think the single clutch type bellhousing has those 2 cast supports a "inch" ? more aft... OR i have recieved a complete wrong clutch setup... just don't know.....
PS already had to buy/change : the centering tube is a larger diameter
the push arm is "smaller" in thickness
Maybe i better stuck to the dual disk... but i followed my tuner in his idea...
