Default Inexpensive INDOOR cover for S4?

We have two indoor cats. They seem to enjoy going out into the garage and climbing all over Sharky. So far only damage has been some dirty paw prints. I currently throw a couple of soft bedsheets over the car, but I'd like to find some kind of inexpensive and SOFT cover that would be easier to put on/take off. There a couple of kinds on e-Bay. This one has mirror pockets and costs about $75.00

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Porsc...=p4506.c0.m245

and this one--super cheap, no mirror pockets.

They seem to emphasize waterproof-ness, which isn't an issue. Softness is what I want and enough thickness/strength to make sure the cats can't tear it. (Both cats are de-clawed, BTW. Front paws only and NO, we didn't do it...they came from a rescue shelter .)

Anybody have any experience with these, or recommendations on something else that would do the job?

TIA.

Stephen,

I have one that I used to use on my 79. It should fit your S4. I used the newer one I bought from California Car cover company on the 79 for a while then on my GTS before I bought a new one for the GTS. for the most part, you'll probaly just want it for cat and dust protection.

If you are interested, I'll let it go cheap. I'll pay shipping you pay for it.

Let me know.

I don't think any kind of car cover will protect your paint from your cat's rear claws.

However, two or three of these

on top of a cover will.

I have the 34$ one off egay and it works fine for me. I usually turn my mirrors in anyway, but it works with them out or in. It just has alittle gap underneath since there are no pockets. But it covers nicely and keeps stuff off my S4.

Wall mart. I used to put a pillow on the convertible top of one of my cars to direct the cat. This was on top of a car cover.

Stephen-

I use a generic Wolf cover from Costco for sun/dust protection in the garage. Not enough to protect from pet claws. If that was a problem for me I'd stop by the local Harbor Freight and grab a mover's blanket or two to put on top of the cover. Make the cat's stay on the car a bit more comfortable, and get the paint protection as a fringe benefit. It would also keep the cat hair from sifting through the cover. The blankets are washable. Or, got that old wool bed blanket that the cats don't like to sleep on?

You could also try a large upholstery shop. They have thousands of materials in all styles and thicknesses sold by the linear yard. Sounds like you just need good top protection, I would buy some of the material that is made from a thick micro fiber and lay it over the entire top of the car. Just don't let it hit the ground, the stuff picks up debris like no other!

I have a very soft and plush indoor cover for and OB in L.A. which could be yours for the picking up. It has mirror pockets and room for the OB rear spoiler, but obviously not the wing. But it should work. The catch it this: it smells faintly of cat pee. Not sure in your case if that would fit in with the theme or lead to cat pee arageddon. Alternatively, since you have cats, you may know how to wash it out.

Stephen, I picked up one of the cover in the first ebay link you posted, the "Cover-Zone Porsche 928 Sahara". Due to my other issues I haven't tried it on the car but it seems like a quality product.

electric fence, IMO. Actually, if you were feeling creative, you could do what one guy did and build a sentry water cannon out of an IR proximity sensor (out of a motion sensor outdoor light) and a windshield washer pump. He hooked it up to a webcam for extra lulz, then programmed it to defend the doorway to his room (to keep the cats out). Worked like a (hilarious) charm.

See the following link for details:

I bought one at Big Lots last week for $18. It fits great, and should work fine for garage use. The back of the package has the 928 size requirement.
