Here when someone asks a question that you do not know the answer to the responce is commonly "I don't know - ya got me" or just "ya got me." In this case I don't know the answer because I don't even know the question; it appears to be in your other language.

Ok, understood, then could you provide me with one of your chocks to see if I could solve the mismatch of the door as much as possible?

Maybe there is no word in your other language for :shim, and wedge or chock is the closest that you can come to shim. But, they are not the same things. I have shims to provide you and will send you a set of shims to help with your issue. I'll need you name and mailing address.

I put a double set of shims in the mail Friday for someone to move their door forward. Anyone else in need of shims for door correction? They are still gratis.

What I am calling a "set of shims" consists of one 20, one 32, and one 40 thou in thickness. With those you can shim a hinge 20, 32, 40, 52, 60, 72, or , with all of them, 92 thousandths. In the top hinge that will raise the rear of the door by a factor of about 3.5 times the thickness of the shim(s) installed.

With two sets of my shims you can move a door forward by any of those amounts with single shims or combinations of shims. Or, you can do some of both if you door needs to be moved forward and maybe lifted at the rear. I think I have only had two or three cases where the door needed to be moved forward, although that was the situation that got me started with these shims, and it was easy to get involved since I had/have a lot of left over aircraft sheet aluminum from my aviation sheet metal days that comes in all of these thicknesses, and more. I think I still have some 50 thou and some 80 thou shims, but they because superfluous right off.

No need to remove the door. Just remove the screws from the hinge and insert one or more shims between the hinge and the door post. Then put the screws back in and snug them up. Test to see if you have shimmed enough. Go back and translate what I first wrote about this.

Jerry, I just stumbled across this thread while trying to figure out how to fix the door sag on my ‘86 944…so great that you have made all these shims available over the years!
I was just going to make some shims out of a beer can but is there any chance you have a 50 thou available?

Yes, I actually do. Are you sure the bolt pattern is the same? Even if I didn't I do also have two 25s that total 50. How did you decide on 50?

I need to lift the rear of door 4mm, so 3/16".... 3/16/3.5=.05357, so maybe a .020 + .032 would have been better but, it's moot because it seems the 944 bolt pattern is in fact different than what I see in the photos of your shims.
Thanks for the offer anyway. Guess I'll go crack a cold one and get started. ha
