Interesting measurements. 5mm at the back of the door is just about right. That is close to 3/16 inch which I think it should have, but 1cm at the front is way too much. I am sure that the car did not come that way from the Factory. One thing I would suggest is that you look at the location of the front fender. I suspect it has been replaced or just moved for some reason.

Aside from that, if you are pretty much stuck with what you have, I can still send you some shims. I even have some that I made early on that I think are 50 thou, but I have never sent any of them because that much adjustment is just about never needed. I can include a couple in the batch that I send you and you can average out the gaps with them and perhaps the other thinner ones that I'll be sending. Check on the fender and then let me know.

P.S. I don't see 15mm anywhere in the measurements you show.

In the first two pictures you have a 9mm gap. In the third picture you have a 4mm gap and in the last picture you have 3mm gap. It also looks in the last one that the door is sagging quite a bit.

It looks to me like, if we are not going to move the fender, that we will need to move the top hinge 2mm, or 80 thou, in order to even out the front and rear gaps at the top. That by itself will also raise the rear of the door by 3.5 times that much or 7mm which is way too much. So we need to shim the bottom hinge also but not quite as much. I think a 50 thou shim under the bottom hinge will both close the front bottom gap by that much but it will also raise the door by 3.5 times the difference between top and bottom. The difference is 30 thou, so the door will be lifted by 3.5 time that much or 105 thou or about 2.5mm, which looks to me to be just about right. Raising the rear of the door also tends to open up the rear gap a little, so we are going to end up with just about the same gap increase at the rear even though we are using two different shims in the hinges. I think I also have some 80 thou shims from long ago.

Many thanks for all your efforts Jerry!
the fender might not have been adjusted well, after the paint and aligning job … 🙄 So I am in favour of adjusting the door. Means I follow your recommendations… 👍
best regards
Peter

I found that I have only one 80 thou and one 50 thou shim, but they are yours. I took them to the office Wednesday expecting that I would have your name and address for mailing, but that didn't happen, and hasn't yet. I am going to include those two shims and a few of the much thinner ones for you whenever.
