Got the PM and responded. I will give this another day or two to see if anyone can beat James (potsiewebber) offer. And no, I wont disclose his offer. If nothing better comes in it will be his.

Garrett GT 40. worried it may be a little small for 650hp but the 42 would have been too big. We'll see how it works out on the street, On paper it looks pretty good . I tell ya I 'd like to scrap this whole single project and go twins but too far in now!

13 psi. to start. I know that would make your brother cringe, but it can be done. These engines are very stout, as I am sure you very well know. Herr Kuhn's(am I allowed to say that?) is on the very bottom of boost for his machine, so much more there! I was contemplating DR's system as it is very, very well executed as are all his fabrications, but I have a turbo itch for the past year, and I absolutely must scratch it!

Oh, BTW, I was contemplating GT30's when I was considering twins, but on the maps it looks like they would choke before 5k on our engines. I still like my upper RPM's

GT3076Rs will flow more than that. I'm getting about 550hp out of one with the .86 hotside. That is at 28 psi though and it's maxed out. A GT3071R will do about 500 hp if pushed similarly and a 35R will do about 650 hp.

Here's a compressor map and flow/pressure curve for two gt3071r's in a 5.0L engine producing 800hp:

According to this, gt3071r's aren't going to choke at that level of power.

My buddy's car is making 415 to the wheels with one GT3071R on a 3.4L DOHC V6 at 15 psi with .370 lift cams. The engine could do more, but it already eats transmissions on a semi-yearly basis. Two would be more than enough for any displacement you can get out of a 928 block.
Garrett under-rates their turbos by a bit. You can expect probably an easy 75 more hp out of them than the catalog suggests. If and when I ever turbo my 84 it will be getting one GT3582R. Should spool quickly and be a solid 500whp car.
