Please tell me you are NOT thinking about putting it on the GTS engine....... stock they tend to ping detonate too much , the last thing they need is boost.

so after doing some research, the only way to reduce oil consumption/detonation/pinging, is to pull the pistons and drill the oil drain back holes all the way through. do i have this right?

That is done to reduce the oil consumption but does nothing to lower the compression. While the pistons are out have the tops machined a bit Tony Harkin and others have done that.

Congrats on the purchase. Hope it works out well for you. Boost is fun. Make sure you get that thing shark tuned as the S4 and GTS cars may respond to boost differently.

Cheaper than replacing the engine.
