Default '93 GTS Wheels Wanted

I'm looking for a couple rear factory wheels for a '93 GTS. 9/55mm. Have part number 965 362 168 00.

Anybody want to get ride of two rears? I'll buy a whole set, if I need to.

Going to be doing some widening for a recent stroker build that now needs more traction !?

Yes, this last one is a real tire smoker. 1st gear is worthless. 2nd is exciting from a standstill. If you drive off normally from the street corner to about 10mph and then decide to hammer it (like the Challenger next to you decides to show you what he has)....it is a bit scary. Not sure that it downshifts into 1st...don't think so. When it upshifts at somewhere around 70....it gets really interesting....fishtailing down the street, at that speed, is not all that much fun, for an old guy.

One of original wheels is cracked...the other has been welded on. Do these wheels have a tendency to crack? Rob Edwards bought a set that had one rear wheel cracked, also.

Sounds like another freaking monster just slipped out the door of the Horse Power Factory -- Excellent !
The only cracking I've heard of was on the aftermarket rims, not the oem one's. I would think it could
be re welded and stress relieved ? even heat treated or cryo'd .. This of coarse, once they've been checked under a mag light to identify all the cracks.

This old guy sure would like to try it to see if it was fun or not.

Greg,
I have a set from my GTS - Cup 1's.
One of the rear wheels developed a small crack about 3 years ago and I had it welded.
Been off my car for about two years after I fitted a set of Kinesis.
Email me if they still interest you.
Roger

Cracks kind of scare me...especially on the bead, where all the ones I have are cracked, or repaired. These stroker engines have to be pretty hard on the rear wheels. I think I'll look for some "virgins", but thanks, Roger.

No testing with my 18x10 rears until you get my cam's back in the engine

Then... feel free!

Hard to tell. A couple of data points sure don't make it so. For sure, the wheel that got welded, on this car, hit a pothole. Not sure about the one with a crack.

I was just asking if anyone else has had a problem.

Greg,
I have one 9" et 55 rear cup II, and one 7.5" et 65 front cup II. $150 for the rear, and $275 for the front. Both are OE Porsche, not aftermarket. The rear would need refinishing, but has no curb rash, nor indication of damage. It is essentially ready for re-spraying. The front has been refinished and looks great.
Plus shipping for either or both.

Cup I's are Cup I's for GTS or not. I have 3 sets and use one set extensively for track and AX and no issues. Pretty sturdy wheel.
