Smile New Rear Hatch Reciever Insert Install

Just installed my new rear hatch reciever insert from 928's R US and it was

easy. Used a 1/2" extension to hold down the white reciever button and slid the

new insert over/around the extension then used a flat head screwdriver to set

the tabs along the sides that hold the insert into place. It looks great and for

now seems to work fine. From the ones I saw, the color may very a little, but

mine looks pretty much like the original.

Best of luck. See you at OCIC.

Good to know. Did it solve your hatch problems?

As requested here's some pictures from Vaark to me to you.

This is the new piece. You can tell because it isn't exploded in to a million shards of what used to be your hatch receiver insert :P

Wish this had been available last year. I replaced the entire receiver at the Marble Falls gathering last year, tried to do some shimming to make it open/close right and after I slammed the rear hatch closed after one of the "adjustments", I haven't been able to get it open since. I've tried losening the hinges, prying from inside, and drilling a 1/4" hole to be able to push the latch in. My original problem is fixed though, it doesn't rattle anymore and stays tightly closed :-)

This insert was probably all I needed.

Doesn't the stock insert fit around those two nipples?
