I'm in, huge watch fan. And James I'm just like you, love the mechanicals but honestly don't care if they are auto or manual wind, just no quartz. If we can come to terms on a nice dial, this would be a great item to have. Personally I'd like to see something in a sports watch, aggressively "mechanical" style case, non-black dial, but with only applied numbers 2, 8 and 9 and the others left off.

I think we should pay homage to the 900 foot long timing belt with a watch like the Tag Monaco V4

We can get Porken to design a tensioning system for it.

Seriously, I have TWO of the watches that this will be based on and I LOVE them! I actually have the Quartz version of them, but they automatic is even more awesome!

I will post pics of the face mock up well before we commit to this with funding so that everyone can get a good look and decide if this is something for them.

Yes, "9" "2" "8" will be the only numbers on the dial. Should be a really cool deal. I hope we can make this happen.

Ah, but your pic seems to show metal gears -- if it were truly inspired by the hatch mechanism the gears should be brittle plastic.

Can someone post some design ideas for a 928 watch? I was thinking only having the 9,2,8 numbers visible on the face,with a porsche crest.

Designer no.1 - Lets use the 9-2-8 only

Designer no.2 - I want to see the 928 silhouette on the dial

Designer no.3 - A shark appliqué would be cool

Designer no.4 - Lets make it a chrono watche with 3 dial inside

Designer no.5 - I like a white dial in a SS case

Designer no.6 - The Porsche logo as to be visible

Designer no.7 - A real shark band is a must

Designer no.8 - A chainemaille(sp) band is way better

Designer no.9 - Lets make them model specific S S2 S3 GT GTS

Designer no.10 - No Trademark cause that will ruin the design

Designer no.11 - No no, a black dial with gold numbers

I like 9-2-8 only. Then black face with Rob Budd's shark over the crest logo like on his hood liners.

AGain, much cheaper and easier to just get bezel covers in assorted flavors. Then trim to fit your watch, glue and go.

If I get one, I'm way to stupid ot take it off when wrenching. Need it to on the cheap side for me.

If I posted an off the shelf $200 Movado with a Porsche crest as the 12 and only 9 - 2 - 8 on the rest of the watch it would have gone over better than your design.

Hey, I did like your design, just calling it like I saw it.
To be fair, the name on your watch didn't mean anything to anyone except you. That's why most did not go along with the design.

The list you posted was an afterthought, the project was already dead when 90% of the people interested wanted your trademark and logo removed.
