Thanks for pointing this out. I get a intermittent low voltage when idling. Have not checked it out yet. When driving it registers between 12-14 volts, but when I come to a stop it sometimes drops off and then pops back up with a rev of the motor. Any ideas? It has a new alternator and wiring harness put in by the PO about two years ago.

Start a new thread or search the 928 electrics thread here to figure out what's loose or dying.
Idle is probably the lowest output stage of the alternator and can be overwhelmed by the car's electrical draw. The twin cooling fans kicking in on the S4 makes my voltage needle twitch.

Jaeger-LeCoutre does the dashboard clock for Aston Martin and Breitling makes the dashboard clocks for Bentley.
....... OK, that might be overkill

Yea, man if I bought one for each of my cars I'd be even broker than I am! Lets see, that would be S/N 80 (for when I am in the race car), 81 (when I am feeling blue...LOL!), 82 (when I am at a concours w/ Blue82), 84 (when I am feeling like driving a red car), 88 (when I just need Bwwwwaaaaa! That car sounds SOOO GOOD!), 92 (for most of the time...I just love my 92!), 94 (when the great white shark needs to be released from its tank!)... ha ha! I could suck up 7% of the total production just to keep up with my cars! LOL!
You know that is NOT a bad problem to have! With registration costing $55/year and insurance (on average across all my 928's) costing $250/year, you just can't have enough 928's really!
